All About Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin’s 8 Children

The Baldwin bunch is big and bonded.

Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, share seven children together. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, shares three daughters, Carmen Gabriela, María Lucía Victoria, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, as well as four sons Rafael Thomas, Leonardo Ángel Charles, Romeo Alejandro David and Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas. Alec is also dad to daughter Ireland Baldwin, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

Ahead of the release of their TLC reality series, The Baldwins, in February 2025, Alec said he “wouldn’t change anything” about their big family.

“I always joke with her and say, ‘You know where I should be right now, don’t you? We should be on Geffen’s yacht, drinking a cappuccino and reading a book, and having dinner with Spielberg or whatever,’ ” he said, while Hilaria added, “Instead we’re changing diapers!” 

Alec and their children were in the audience to support Hilaria on when she performed on Dancing with the Stars during the season 34 premiere, which aired in September 2025.

“She’s a hard worker,” Alec told the cameras. “She’s just going to give it everything she has. I’m proud of her, very proud of her.”

Carmen Gabriela, 12

Shortly after Alec and Hilaria’s marriage in 2012, the pair announced their pregnancy in February 2013 and welcomed their first child together seven months later. Hilaria gave birth to Carmen on Aug. 23, 2013.

In 2017, Hilaria posted an adorable photo with a caption describing Carmen’s desire for a little sister. “Carmen has been begging for a baby sister. She finally got fed up and shoved a baby doll up her dress, telling me she will have the baby for me. But I’m mommy and she is the big sister,” Hilaria wrote.

In December 2024, Hilaria and Carmen announced their book, Glowing Up: Recipes to Rock Your Natural Beauty, which is all about building confidence and self-care, though the proud mom told PEOPLE that the book is really all Carmen and Hilaria is “just helping her see the potential and possibilities.”

“I loved creating this book with Carmen. One of my goals as a mother is to really foster my children’s creativity and individuality and see where their passions and skills collide,” she said. “She has made her own skincare products from our kitchen for years, learning what ingredients are beneficial, measuring, experimenting…creating.”

Carmen said that she wanted to share her recipes “with other kids and their families.”

“I feel very lucky for this experience and I hope people like it as much as I do! I do a lot of research into different ingredients that are good for hair and skin,” she said.

Rafael Thomas, 10

Hilaria gave birth to her first son and second child, Rafael, on June 17, 2015. The couple announced the news that Carmen would be getting a sibling in January of that year by sharing a photo of the growing family — and Hilaria’s baby belly — on the beach.

“It was amazing,” Alec said of his “hero” wife at the time. “Someone else is doing all the hard work, and you’re there for them … You sit there and go, ‘I would do anything to make this easier for you,’ ” he said.

Leonardo Ángel Charles, 9

One year later, Alec and Hilaria welcomed their third child and second son together on Sept. 12, 2016. “It was such a special day bringing him into this world,” Hilaria captioned a photo of herself holding her newborn shortly after his birth.

Although his name is Leonardo — and he is often referred to as Leo — his dad immediately nicknamed him “Leoncito,” per Alec’s Instagram caption.

Romeo Alejandro David, 7

Romeo joined siblings Carmen, Rafael and Leo on May 17, 2018. He is Hilaria and Alec’s third son and fourth child together. Before the couple decided on Romeo, they had been calling him another name almost up until the day he was born.

“He didn’t have a name for two days,” Hilaria told PEOPLE at the time. “His name that we were pretty set on the entire time was Diego, which I still really love. I told my kids, ‘Diego is gonna come,’ and they were all waiting for him.”

“I don’t know why I just started getting this sense really close to when I was gonna give birth that that was not his name,” she added.

In October 2024, Hilaria shared a selfie with Romeo on her Instagram Stories to show that her son had needed to get stitches.

“Romeo banged his head…stitches like a champ,” she wrote.

Eduardo ‘Edu’ Pao Lucas, 5

Hilaria and Alec welcomed their fourth son and fifth child, Eduardo, together on Sept. 8, 2020. The couple each posted on their Instagrams the following day to announce the news of their new addition, whom they nicknamed “Edu.”

The mom of six called Edu their “rainbow baby” and “such a blessing” — he was born after she suffered two miscarriages seven months apart in 2019. Hilaria frequently posts sweet photos of Edu beside his younger sister.

María Lucía Victoria, 4

Carmen’s wish for a little sister came true six months after Hilaria birthed Edu. The couple welcomed their sixth child via surrogate on Feb. 25, 2021. Named María Lucía Victoria — and going by Lucía — she made her Instagram debut in a closeup shared by Hilaria, alongside a heartfelt caption.

“We are so in love with our daughter, Lucia,” she wrote. “Just like your brothers and sisters, you are a dream come true.”

Ilaria Catalina Irena, 2

Hilaria and Alec confirmed to PEOPLE that they were expecting their seventh child in March 2022. “We have ‘somos un buen equipo’ engraved on our wedding bands. We say that to each other all the time at home — that we’re a good team,” Hilaria and Alec tell PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “One of the most beautiful things my children have experienced with a big family is how the heart can grow with every new sibling.” Hilaria’s pregnancy news came after she suffered a miscarriage and a pregnancy loss in 2019.

The couple welcomed their seventh child on Sept. 22, 2022, a baby girl named Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin, who weighed 6 lbs., 13 oz.

“How grateful we feel to welcome our newest little daughter into this world,” the couple told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “Just as magical and filled with love as every other little person we have been blessed with.”

On Oct. 4, Hilaria shared their first family photo on Instagram since welcoming their newest addition last month.

“Our first photo with the smallest Baldwins! What a Baldwinito dream team,” she wrote, mentioning Alec’s oldest daughter, on Instagram. “Ireland, you are missed and loved ✨.”

Ireland Baldwin, 29

Alec’s eldest child, Ireland, was born in 1995 to Alec and his then-wife, actor Kim Basinger. The two divorced in 2002 and Ireland found herself publicly in the center of a very acrimonious split when Alec’s leaked voicemails were made public.

In the years since, Ireland has become a model and influencer, repaired her relationship with her father and welcomed a child of her own. She now has a close relationship with her father and stepmother, who excitedly shared the news of a new niece on the way with Ireland’s seven half-brothers and sisters.

Ireland has publicly shown her support for Hilaria’s run on Dancing with the Stars.

“I wanted to take a second to talk about my step mom @hilariabaldwin,” she wrote in a September 2025 Instagram post. “I think if people actually knew her the way I do, they would be quite surprised … Hilaria has had a far more complex and chaotic upbringing than she lets on and I think that’s why we’ve maybe bonded in someways? She didn’t always feel safe and seen. Sometimes, she is too loyal to a fault. She is eccentric and totally bat shit crazy (in a fun way) but she saved my dad’s life.”
