NEED TO KNOW
The Scandal group chat is still alive and well.
Scott Foley says that he and his former castmates are still in constant communication, and reveals to PEOPLE which of them sends the most out-of-pocket texts.
“Probably Katie Lowes. I mean, she just doesn’t care. That’s her motto in life, and she’s so beautiful and talented, and we just let her do what she wants,” the Felicity actor says at the Jan. 21 premiere of his new show, It’s Not Like That, in New York City.

Foley, 53, starred in the ABC drama as one of Kerry Washington’s love interests, Jake Ballard, the White House Chief of Staff and Command of B613.
The actor joined the series, which ran from 2012 to 2018, in the second half of season 2 before becoming a series regular.
Foley notes that, as an actor, the main goal is to have long-term success on a project, but the lasting relationships are a welcome byproduct.
“You always hope that A, the job is long-running, right? It means I don’t have to go look for more work. But in that equation, the benefit of having a long-running show is that you really get to know each other,” Foley tells PEOPLE.
“And this was a show where we not only spent a ton of time on set with each other, but off set,” he continues. “We enjoyed each other’s company, and I’m so grateful for all the connections that I have made with these people. We have a text chain. I talk to them all the time.”
In fact, during the event, Foley was surprised with a video from Washington, who voiced her support for the project and told him how “proud” she was.
Scandal ran on ABC for seven seasons, and in addition to Foley, Lowes and Washington, it featured Tony Goldwyn, Darby Stanchfield, Bellamy Young, Jeff Perry, Joe Morton and Guillermo Díaz.
When talking with PEOPLE in 2018, Foley shared that his most memorable Scandal moment was flying on a private jet to the Bahamas with Washington.

“There’s always a new element thrown at me. Like when Olivia agrees to go away with Jake. They put us on a plane to the Bahamas. It was just Kerry [Washington] and me and a very skeleton crew,” he said. “That was my most memorable time.”
“Because Scandal was at the time really popular and we didn’t want the storyline to get out, Disney flew us on a private jet down there,” he added. “It was a really amazing experience and it’s something that I will never forget.”
It’s Not Like That premieres with two episodes on Sunday, Jan. 25, on Prime Video.
