Connor McCaffery is Caitlin Clark’s biggest fan.
On Thursday, Jan. 22, the 27-year-old college basketball coach and former player wished the WNBA star a happy birthday as she turned 24.
“Happy 24th CC,” he began, adding a black heart emoji to his Instagram tribute.
His single-photo post was a picture of the couple laughing as they shared an evening out together.
“celebrating you is a privilege and I’m so grateful for the laughter and joy you bring to our everyday lives ♾️ 2026 has so much in store for you,” McCaffery concluded, “I love you.”
Clark, who also shared the image to her Instagram Stories, commented, “Love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu,” adding a flaming red heart emoji.
Like the Indiana Fever guard, McCaffery also played basketball for the University of Iowa.
McCaffery’s college career ended when he graduated from Iowa in 2023 with bachelor’s degrees in finance and political science. He later began working as a team assistant for the NBA’s Indiana Pacers before moving on to Butler University in Indianapolis.
He and Clark started dating in April 2023, and confirmed their relationship via social media in August of that year when she shared an Instagram carousel with two photos of the couple, captioned “Best end to summer.”
The pictures showed the pair smiling as they hung out on a boat together.
They later made their red carpet debut at the Golden Gala fundraiser, which benefits the Indiana Pacers Foundation, in October 2024. For the special occasion, Clark wore a strapless, skin-tight black dress, while McCaffery, the son of Fran McCaffery, head basketball coach at the University of Iowa, wore a suit.
Clark and McCaffery are regularly supportive of one another on social media. In September 2024, Clark cheered him on as he joined Butler University’s men’s basketball coaching staff.

“Yayyy!!! So happy for you,” Clark wrote on Instagram after he shared his big news online.
McCaffery also always makes sure to dedicate a birthday post to his special person every year.
“Happy 23rd CC ❤️ (finally we’re celebrating together this year 🥹)! You have an incredible ability to inspire and lift up those around you, and I am lucky to learn from you every day. Thank you for always being you 🤞🏼I love you 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼,” he wrote in 2025, adding several sweet photos of them together.

For his 27th birthday in July 2025, Clark returned the love with a heartfelt message of her own.
“happy happy happy birthday con🥳 you make everyday better and I couldn’t be more grateful. may this be the best year yet , i love you,” she captioned an Instagram carousel.
