The statement continued, “As we stand together at the base of what seems to be an insurmountable grief, we are emboldened to grieve him with honor and courage with the tools that he equipped us with in his beautiful life.
“He has left an unmistakable legacy and will be profoundly missed by us, his family, and countless others whose lives he impacted,” Moon’s family concluded.
Moon moved to California from his hometown of Wisconsin in 1986, NBC Los Angeles reported. He is most recognized for composing the music for several animated shows by Butch Hartman, including The Fairly OddParents (2001-2017) — which earned him four Emmy nominations — Danny Phantom (2004-2007) and T.U.F.F. Puppy (2010-2015).
He also wrote the music for the 2021 Johnny Test Netflix reboot, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (2001) and Cow and Chicken (1997-1990) and composed music for numerous films, including three The Fairly OddParents movies, the 1990s Brady Bunch films, Minority Report (2002) and Fight Club (1999), according to Deadline.
Hartman, 61, reacted to Moon’s death on his Instagram Stories on Saturday. “I have no words yet because there are none adequate enough. I will be making a statement soon. Guy was my friend. My brother. My family,” the animator wrote, adding, “My heart is broken.”
