Amanda Seyfried is opening up about smooching Michael B. Jordan over two decades ago!
Seyfried, 40, reflected on her life and career in an interview with W Magazine published Jan. 7. The magazine asked the actress, “Where was your first kiss?”
“My first on-screen kiss was with Michael B. Jordan,” she said. “He was Reggie and I was Joni on All My Children. Our characters met, and we had feelings for each other.” Seyfried’s Joni Stafford and Jordan’s Reggie Porter Montgomery met while doing community service together and soon fell in love.

“We were so young. I think he was 15, and I was 16 or 17,” she said. “Michael was always really good.” Seyfried was with the series from 2002 to 2003, while Jordan, 38, was on the show from 2003 to 2006. His time on the series followed his breakout role as Wallace on The Wire.
“It’s interesting to think back that long ago and to see that we’re both still as passionate as ever about what we do as actors,” Seyfried said. “I like that trajectory.”
Both Seyfried and Jordan are kicking up considerable Oscar buzz: Seyfried for The Testament of Ann Lee and Jordan for his dual role in Sinners.
In March 2025, Seyfried shared a throwback photo of her and Jordan on the set of AMC. “22 years ago dayum,” she shared alongside the pic of her with her arm around Jordan’s shoulder, the pair smiling at the camera.

Jordan’s role on All My Children was initially played by the late Chadwick Boseman, who was fired after just one week on set. Boseman was allegedly let go after voicing his concerns that Reggie’s character relied too much on racial stereotypes. Jordan and Boseman ended up starring together in 2018’s Black Panther and became friends.
Back in November, Jordan opened up to PEOPLE about his past on the soap and how it affected his career. He said one of the biggest surprises of his Hollywood journey is “my time that I spent on soap operas.”
“I never knew how many casting directors and executives in Hollywood would tell me, ‘Oh man, my wife really loves you.’ Or like, ‘Oh, she watches you all the time on the stories. … Come in for this and read for that,’ ” he said.
All My Children, which was on the air from 1970 to 2011, has many A-list alumni, including Kelly Ripa, Josh Duhamel, Lacey Chabert and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Series star and soap opera icon Susan Lucci honored the show’s premiere 56 years ago this week. “January 5, 1970 : All My Children premieres. And everything changes,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to Agnes Nixon for creating Pine Valley and for Erica Kane. To all the cast and crew, I love you, always. And to the fans – Thank you for watching — and for your passion!!! Thank you for keeping us on the air for forty one years!!! ❤️🎉🎊”
