NEED TO KNOW
Solving crimes doesn’t leave a lot of time for the characters to find love on Will Trent.
The hit ABC series, starring Ramón Rodríguez as the titular special agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), returned for season 4 on Jan. 6, after season 3 ended with multiple cliffhangers.
The third installment saw Will’s (Rodríguez) love life become even more complicated, after Marion Alba (Gina Rodriguez) exited the series — for now — and his longtime love interest, Angie Polaski (Erika Christensen), became pregnant with the baby of Dr. Seth McDale (Scott Foley).
Outside of the show, the cast’s relationships aren’t as dramatic as their detective counterparts, with some of them, like Christensen, being in long-term marriages.
In honor of the police procedural returning for a fourth season, here’s all about the real-life partners of the Will Trent cast.

Rodríguez’s character Will has had romantic relationships, but the actor has stayed mostly tight-lipped about his dating life off-screen.
During a May 2025 interview on Live with Kelly and Mark, Rodríguez briefly mentioned having a significant other when he spoke about becoming an ordained minister.
“I was actually prepared. I took it seriously,” he told co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos about officiating a wedding. “I was like, ‘There must be a class or something.’ So I was marrying my girlfriend’s sister in Los Angeles, and we had our families there.”
“So I had my mother and her mother, and we had a lovely Mother’s Day,” he added.
The actor hasn’t shared more details since.

Christensen is also a cycling enthusiast, and she met Maness at a bike race, as she told Genlux magazine.
“He knew who I was, and I knew who he was, so both of us were playing it cool and wouldn’t talk to each other,” she recalled, adding that the two eventually connected through X and started dating.
Today, the couple share two daughters: Shane, born in June 2016, and Polly, whom they welcomed in August 2018.

The This Is Us alum’s relationship status is unclear, but Richardson has spoken about growing close to her costars, like Rodríguez, whom she credits with “establishing the tone of the show” as a producer.
“I think there’s a really great camaraderie in that as well as we start to develop our own friendship simultaneously [to Will and Faith],” she told Hello! magazine in May 2024.

The pair are parents to daughters Rowan, Reagan and Freya, and a son, Logan. At the TCA Winter Press Tour in February 2024, the actor announced that he and Stephanie were expecting their fifth child, another son.
“That’ll be number five for all of you that are like, shaking your head at me for having five kids. But we’re really happy and excited,” he told the audience. “And so it’s been really nice to be able to go home and be with my wife, and make doctor’s appointments with her and do all that stuff.”
“I guess it’s humbling and makes me very grateful,” he continued. “And that’s how it’s made me grow as a person, me just being on the show. And I can’t be more thankful.”

Daniels is an openly gay actor who has played queer characters in multiple series, including Modern Family, Council of Dads, AJ and the Queen and USA’s Sirens.
In a December 2019 episode of the podcast RuPaul: What’s the Tee with Michelle Visage, when asked about being typecast for gay roles, Daniels said, “As soon as I let go of the fear of being typecast or being in a certain box, my entire career opened up.”
Later in the conversation, he told RuPaul that he was ready to buy a house and “find a partner.”
“I want to find someone to share the successes with, and the loneliness with,” he added.

Rodriguez and Joe LoCicero have been married since 2019, after initially meeting on the set of Jane the Virgin in 2016.
The couple welcomed a son, Charlie Ray, in March 2023, and their family grew with the addition of their daughter, Lucille Edith, in 2025.
“My husband is literally a 10. I mean, he is tremendous,” Rodriguez told PEOPLE in July 2025. “Being pregnant with a toddler is probably more debilitating than I ever thought it was, and he just scoops in everything, as you would hope a partner would, but he does it all the time, before I even think about it — before I ask.”
“It makes it really, really wonderful to bring children into this world when you have someone fantastic like that,” she continued.
Rodriguez joined Will Trent for season 3, but her return for season 4 has not been confirmed.
“I think that Gina Rodriguez is wonderful. She pops off the screen. We love her,” co-showrunner Liz Heldens told TVLine. “It was an amazing experience to work with her, and I wouldn’t rule out her coming back in Season 4 at all.”
