NEED TO KNOW
Viewers will be getting a look into the unraveling of Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid and Tommy Feight’s marriage on the debut season of The Valley: Persian Style.
PEOPLE has an exclusive sneak peek at the supersized two-episode premiere of the new series, which follows the lives of MJ, 53, and fellow Shahs of Sunset alums Reza Farahan and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi. In the clip, MJ expresses her frustrations to Tommy, also 53, but he doesn’t seem to be on the same page.
“Some of the girls there at dinner last night, they don’t sleep in the same room with their husbands — they actually have separate bedrooms,” she explains, seemingly suggesting they consider the idea for themselves.
“It is very difficult for me to sleep without you next to me,” Tommy interjects. “You know I have sleep apnea. It’s difficult for me to sleep regardless.”

When MJ notes that the condition also causes him to snore, he pulls up a video of her snoring as well.
“Oh, that’s because I just had surgery,” she says as he adds: “It’s like sleeping next to a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant!”
“Today’s not the day,” MJ replies. “It’s date night, and I would appreciate that you don’t make those jokes.”
In her confessional, she says that Tommy makes fun “a little too much,” but he defends himself, claiming that “teasing is definitely a way that I show love.”

MJ then asks Tommy, with whom she shares 6-year-old son Shams, “Don’t you think that Shams hears the way that you crack jokes at me?”
“Yeah, but he’s got a great sense of humor,” Tommy says. “None of it’s ever malicious.”
Still, MJ shares that Shams has started to mimic his father’s behavior before a flashback plays proving that to be true.
“I don’t think he’s aware that it can be hurtful,” MJ tells cameras of Tommy’s humor. “I love him enough, but is love enough?”
As they wrap up their discussion, the waiter approaches their table with the menu, where Tommy pokes fun at MJ once again.
“If she takes her top off, will that get me some type of discount?” he quips.
Throughout the season, Persian Style will document the couple’s relationship, which has since ended. MJ filed for divorce in October 2025 after seven years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences.
In addition, the Bravo spinoff will show what Gharachedaghi and Farahan, along with his husband, Adam Neely, have been up to after trading Beverly Hills for suburban life in San Fernando Valley.
“As they juggle marriages, parenthood and thriving careers, cracks in their relationships — both between lovers and friends — begin to emerge,” the official logline reads. “Rooted in their culture that values family, friendships and loyalty above everything else, emotions often take over as these fiery personalities navigate their highs, lows and everything in between.”
