NEED TO KNOW
Ego Nwodim is spilling the tea on what’s next for her following her unexpected departure from Saturday Night Live.
Nwodim recently sat down for a PEOPLE in 10 interview to chat about her new collab with Scotch Brand, her love of hot cocoa and more. During the conversation, the actress and comedian also revealed that she has several exciting new projects on the horizon.
“I’m so excited for the future,” Nwodim 37, began. “This feels very exciting. I’m over the moon. Lots of things to get my fingers in, lots of muscles to flex and develop — and that feels super exciting.”
She continued, “So the podcast [Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim] is one thing that has been really fun to do. You can listen to it anywhere you get your podcast. I’m in Mindy Kaling’s NSFW [Not Suitable for Work] that will be premiering soon enough. Such a fun cast. I’m in Little Brother for Netflix, which will be coming out in 2026 sometime.”

Little Brother, meanwhile, is a comedy that follows a famous real estate agent (John Cena) whose carefully curated world is upended when his eccentric “little brother” (Eric André) unexpectedly reappears in his life, per Netflix. The script was written by The D-Train filmmakers Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel and Ingrid Goes West director Matt Spicer is set to direct.
In September, Nwodim announced her departure from SNL ahead of its current 51st season in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight,” she began in the Sept. 12 post. “But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL. I am immensely grateful to Lorne for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship.”
“Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories (and that laughter) with me always ✨🙏🏾😘 ,” she concluded. “Now invite me to your weddings please!!!”
