Get ready to join Emily Cooper for more chic European adventures — this time with a few new faces along for the journey.
In September 2024, Netflix announced Emily in Paris — the platform’s hit series starring Lily Collins — had officially been renewed for a fifth season. The news came mere days after season 4, part 2 was released, revealing Emily’s life abroad would traverse the French border to Italy in season 5.
The show’s creator, Darren Star, gave Tudum insight into the decision to have Emily step into a new role as head of Agence Grateau’s satellite office in Rome, likening the plot twist to Emily turning the page to a bigger, bolder chapter in her life.
“This season is a tale of two cities: Rome and Paris,” Star said in August 2025. “Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level. From Parisian rooftops to Roman ruins, we can’t wait to share where Emily’s next chapter takes us.”
So who will be joining Emily as she takes her passport to the Eternal City on a quest for new professional experiences and romantic entanglements? Here’s everything to know about the new cast members in Emily in Paris season 5.

Greenberg, known for his previous roles in One Tree Hill, The Mindy Project, How to Make it in LA and Suits LA, teased his upcoming appearance on the Netflix hit series with a quippy post on his Instagram in December 2025.
“Jake from Michigan meets Emily in Paris,” the actor wrote alongside a still of himself and Collins in a supermarket.

Michèle Laroque appears in the newest season of Emily in Paris as Sylvie Grateau’s longtime friend, Yvette.
In August 2025, casting director Juliette Menager spoke to Variety about selecting the César-nominated French actress and comedian for the part, telling the outlet it was initially a challenging role to fill.
“I saw that Sylvie was going to meet an old friend of hers in season 5, and it’s complicated because actresses of that generation tend to have a certain look and it was difficult to find someone available who could work well with Philippine,” Menager said.
“But suddenly I thought of Michelle, who speaks English fluently and is such a good actress — she’s got that perfect comedic timing,” she continued. “Then I had to sell the idea to Darren and the rest of the team who didn’t know her and they loved her right away, like Philippine.”
Laroque has previously starred in films including Ma vie en Rose, Brillantissime and The Closet.
Minnie Driver as Princess Jane

Minnie Driver brings Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie’s who has married into royalty, to life on-screen in season 5 of Emily in Paris.
Driver, a well-known actress for film roles including her Oscar-nominated performance in Good Will Hunting, likened the Netflix series to a much-needed escape during a difficult time across the world.
“I did Emily in Paris because it’s one of the most popular shows on television, and it’s very cannily written, but it’s confection in dark times,” she told The Sunday Times in December 2025. “We are living in pretty astonishing times and the schisms between people are becoming more chasm-like. The way my friends’ faces lit up when I told them I was doing Emily in Paris made me realise it brings so much joy to so many people. ”
Driver added that her connection to Collins influenced her decision to join the cast as well. She shared, “I’ve known Lily Collins since she was 11 as I’d worked with her dad [Phil Collins] years ago on Tarzan. Lily is actually the person you want to see as No. 1 on a call sheet. She’s a good person and a good leader.”
