Why Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman Are Sparking Marriage Rumors After 12 Years Together
Lauren Silverman? It’s Mrs. Simon Cowell, actually.
While the America’s Got Talent judge has yet to officially tie the knot with his longtime fiancée, she has already taken his last name. Why? Well, as Lauren recently explained, she’d previously kept ex Andrew Silverman’s last name for the benefit of her now 19-year-old son Adam Silverman.
“I kept it for him,” Lauren—who shares son Eric, 11, with Simon—explained in an episode of Simon Cowell: The Next Act, per US Weekly. “I don’t really want to have my ex-husband’s last name anymore.”
Indeed, Lauren was so ready to shed her past title that she signed the paperwork to make it official later in the episode, during what was Simon’s 65th birthday in 2024.
“That just feels right for now,” she explained, before assuring, “Not ‘for now,’ but I mean now, forever!”
And of course, Lauren made sure to tease the former American Idol host, now 66, adding, “That’s part of your birthday gift, me taking your name.”
