Katharine McPhee Foster is showing off her hidden talent!
On Thursday, Dec. 4, the Smash alum shared an Instagram Reel that featured a compilation of clips illustrating her ballet background on stage.
In the footage, McPhee Foster, 41, can be seen flaunting her en pointe skills as her husband David Foster plays piano in the background.
The American Idol alum can be seen practicing her ballet routine in matching black and cream athleisure as she dances across the stage. One of the clips even shows McPhee Foster performing for the audience in a white leotard and tutu covered in red florals.
“night 1 of our christmas tour ✅ black swan…but festive 🩰🎄,” she captioned the post.
When a commenter mentioned they didn’t know McPhee Foster was a ballet dancer, the singer wrote back, “I’m not 😂😂 I just used to do it and fun to pretend during the holidays.”
Last month, McPhee Foster and Foster, 76, announced their 12-date Christmas tour, which kicked off on Tuesday, Dec. 2 in Carmel, Ind.
The couple will perform dates in Richmond, Ky., Auburn, Ala., Charleston, S.C. and more until their Christmas shows wrap on Dec. 14 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Christmas has always held a special place in the pair’s hearts.
When their romance first began in 2017, the singer and actress told PEOPLE that the hit record producer threw a Christmas party for her and her friends to try to “woo” her.
The pair released their first Christmas-themed album together — Christmas Songs — in 2022.
“I think I guilted David,” McPhee Foster said of the record at the time. “I said something like, ‘It’s really crazy I’m married to the greatest producer, basically of our lifetime, and I’ve only had you record me on a few songs.’ Then he said, ‘Okay, well, why don’t we just do a Christmas album?'”
It ended up being a seven-track EP.

“We thought we would just put a couple songs out on Spotify, and then we did this seven-song EP situation and our co-manager started sending it around to a couple labels,” she said at the time. “Before we knew it, we had a whole Christmas plan of shows and promotion.”
Foster called recording with his wife “easy.”
“I got to make the tracks and do things the way I wanted to, then I’d have her come in and plug her vocal in,” he said at the time. “It was really fun. There were a couple of songs we were talking about that we didn’t know whether she could handle or not, but she handled them like a pro.”
