‘Camp Rock 3’: Cast, News and Plot

Camp Rock is officially back in session.

Disney announced on Sept. 17 that a revival of the iconic Disney Channel original movie was in the works for Disney+ and Disney Channel. Camp Rock 3 picks up years after the 2010 sequel, when the Jonas Brothers’ iconic fictional band Connect 3 loses their opening act for their major reunion tour.

According to the synopsis, the trio decides to return to “their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing.”

Fans of the original Disney flick have wondered if a new installment was on its way after Joe Jonas was instructed to read his last Notes app entry out loud during an August 2025 appearance on Hot Ones Versus.

“Read Camp Rock 3,” he said, before looking at the camera and addressing his accidental reveal, “Sorry, Disney.”

From which original cast members are reprising their roles to the official synopsis, here’s everything to know about Camp Rock 3.

What is Camp Rock 3 about?

The third Camp Rock film picks up over a decade after Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, with Connect 3 preparing for a big reunion tour. When their opening act goes AWOL, the band revisits the acclaimed summer music camp, Camp Rock, to find a replacement.

“As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances,” the official synopsis continued.

This plot line mirrors the 2008 Camp Rock movie, where Demi Lovato plays a shy teen who catches the eye of a famous pop star Shane Gray (Joe) and helps him rediscover his passion for music.

Which cast members are returning?

Kevin Jonas and Nick Jonas will reprise their roles as Jason Gray and Nate Gray, respectively, along with Joe. The brothers will also serve as executive producers for the film.

Nick shared with his Instagram followers that Camp Rock 3 marked the third time he has spent his birthday filming the franchise.

“Somehow my third time celebrating my birthday on the set of Camp Rock? 15, 17 and now the best one yet, 33 with my ❤️ @priyankachopra,” he captioned a series of photos from behind the scenes with his brothers and wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

In addition to the Jonas Brothers, the only other original cast member who has been confirmed so far is Maria Canals-Barrera. The Wizards of Waverly Place alum is set to reprise her role as Mitchie’s mother, Connie Torres, who worked as a cook at Camp Rock to help her daughter attend at a discounted cost.

“We’re back campers!” the actress announced in a September 2025 Instagram post. “#Camprock3 is now in production 🎤.”

Is Demi Lovato reprising her role?

Lovato won’t be returning to her role in Camp Rock 3, but she has signed on as an executive producer and recently reunited with her former costars onstage.

At the first Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20 show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in August 2025, the singer joined Joe — who she briefly dated in 2010 — to perform the Camp Rock favorites “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”

“It was so healing for me, too,” Lovato said shortly after on the Chicks in the Office podcast. “You know, we’ve been through so much together, all of us, the Jonas Brothers and I. It was really, really great to spend time with them.”

She added that it was Joe who made their onstage reunion happen and that afterward all three Jonas Brothers spent time getting to know her husband, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes.

“They just, you know, thanked me profusely for flying across the country to perform with them,” Lovato continued. “And it was just so thoughtful. I felt so appreciated. And it was really healing for us. And I loved it.”

Which new cast members are joining Camp Rock 3?

There is a whole slew of new campers joining the cast, according to the synopsis. Liamani Segura plays the “bold and determined” Sage, who attends Camp Rock with her “easygoing brother” Desi, played by Hudson Stone.

The cast also features Lumi Pollack as cello prodigy Rosie, Casey Trotter as drummer Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as choreographer Callie, Ava Jean as social media star Madison and Malachi Barton as the camp’s resident bad boy, Fletch.

Sherry Cola has also joined the franchise as Lark.

Is there a trailer for Camp Rock 3?

While there is no full trailer for Camp Rock 3 yet, Disney+ released the first teaser for the upcoming movie in December 2025.

The short teaser shares clips of the camp along with the new campers who have joined the cast, as the song “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” from Camp Rock 2 plays in the background.

The promo also includes a new clip of Joe’s Shane, Nick’s Nate and Kevin’s Jason arriving at the camp.

“We’re back. Exactly where we’re supposed to be,” Shane says.

When did filming start?

Filming for Camp Rock 3 began in September 2025, and like the first two films, it is also being shot in Canada. E! reported in 2008 that there were two Ontario camps used as filming locations for Camp Rock: Camp Wanakita in Haliburton and Kilcoo Camp in Minden.

It hasn’t been revealed which camp is being used for the third film, but Disney did confirm that shooting had begun in Vancouver, British Columbia.

When will Camp Rock 3 be released?

A release date for Camp Rock 3 has not yet been announced.
