Michael B. Jordan and his Sinners costars reunited at the 2025 Gotham Awards.
Jordan, 38, stepped out at the awards show in New York City on Monday, Dec. 1 alongside the movie’s director, Ryan Coogler, and many of his costars from the blockbuster vampire thriller, to receive the ceremony’s Ensemble Tribute Award.
Onstage, Jordan, Jayme Lawson and Delroy Lindo spoke on behalf of the cast, with Lindo praising the Black Panther director: “No matter the budget, Ryan Coogler is an independent filmmaker at heart in his commitment to his vision.”
Jordan’s costar Hailee Steinfeld was not present at the ceremony.

Outside of Sinners’ Ensemble Tribute Award, actress Wunmi Mosaku, 39, also won for the night’s Outstanding Supporting Performance Award. In winning the honor, she beat out Benicio Del Toro (One Battle After Another), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein) Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (Sentimental Value) Indya Moore (Father Mother Sister Brother), Adam Sandler (Jay Kelly), Andrew Scott (Blue Moon), Alexander Skarsgård (Pillion), Stellan Skarsgård (Sentimental Value) and Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another).
“Led by Michael B. Jordan’s magnificent dual roles, the remarkable ensemble cast of Sinners gives bracing, inspired performances that create one of the great cinematic experiences of the year,” Gotham Film & Media Institute Jeffrey Sharp said in a statement on Oct. 16, when the award was announced. “Each talented member of this group brings a rich intensity and authenticity throughout the film’s unique twists and turns. We’re thrilled that the brilliant Ryan Coogler will present the Ensemble Tribute to Michael and the extraordinary cast at this year’s Gotham Film Awards.”

Sinners wowed audiences when it released in theaters in April. The movie follows Jordan in dual roles as twins Smoke and Stack, who return to their hometown in Mississippi in 1932 in the hopes of opening a nightclub for Black patrons — until they run incidentally run into a vampire on the prowl.
The Gotham Awards’ Ensemble Tribute has been awarded since 2005; notable movies that have received the tribute hading into awards season include Moonlight, The Hurt Locker and The Favourite.
