NEED TO KNOW
Lili Reinhart will always appreciate her days as Betty Cooper.
Appearing on the Monday, Nov. 24 episode of Live! With Kelly and Mark, the actress, 29, looked back at her time on Riverdale with Mark Consuelos, who joined in season two and enjoyed a recurring role as Hiram Lodge.
Asked about how the show prepared her for other roles in her career, Reinhart explained, “I think it was everything. I was lucky enough to be on a show that really, everything one could do in a show, I did on that show. Every genre, every plot…”
She continued, “I really think, you know, it’s rare to be on a show that doesn’t really stick to one thing. We just kept on going. So I find that the projects that I do now, whatever it may be, there’s some level of what I’m doing now that I did on that show.”

Reinhart praises her seven seasons on Riverdale for being “a perfect runway,” for everything that’s come since.
“I’m appreciative of that for the rest of my career,” she says.
Speaking about her latest project, Hal & Harper, Reinhart discussed working with Cooper Raiff
“He and I are playing 9 and 7-year-old versions of ourselves as adults. There’s a present timeline and a past timeline. It’s about two co-dependent siblings and our father is having a baby with his girlfriend. And it’s making us all reflect back on our childhood where our dad was emotionally absent… We are playing our younger selves to express the pain of having grown up too fast with our dad,” she explains.
“This is what I shot immediately after the last season of Riverdale ended. I had one month off and I went on vacation to celebrate the 7 years ending and say goodbye to it, and then this was the first thing that I did,” Reinhart noted.
“And honestly, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better project to do following Riverdale. This is an independent television show, so we shot it without a streamer attached, and we had to sell it, which kind of doesn’t really happen for television… So I’m incredibly happy for the show and that it’s finally out for people to see.”
Reinhart’s list of upcoming projects remains packed. She stars in the upcoming Forbidden Fruits with Lola Tung and Victoria Pedretti and the romance The Love Hypothesis, a much-antipciated adaptation of the novel by Ali Hazelwood.
“I was lucky enough to shoot three movies back to back,” Reinhart told PEOPLE earlier this month. She’s in the middle of a built-in break now to talk about Hal & Harper, which streams weekly on Mubi.
“Three movies is a lot,” she said. “And I’m not ready to be on a set again.”
