NEED TO KNOW
Kathy Griffin is single and ready to mingle.
While catching up with PEOPLE at the Out100 Celebration on Nov. 21, the 65-year-old comedian reveals that she’s been scouring “the apps” for a new romance.
“Can you believe it?” Griffin quips. “I’m on four freaking apps. It’s just embarrassing. I’ve gone on three different dates so far. They were all nice guys, but I didn’t really feel the connection. I just think it’s funny that I’m on there as myself anyway.”
As for what she’s looking for in a new man? Griffin explains that she’s simply searching for a partner who can handle all of her quirks and talents.
“I like a guy that’s nice, that’s smart, that can handle the fact that I’m like a ballsy comedian and not be threatened by that or whatever,” she continues. “And just somebody to share life with. Nothing wild. Not a Hollywood type of guy, just a regular guy.”
Griffin’s dating app confession comes less than a year after she finalized her divorce from ex-husband Randy Bick. And though she seems more than ready to move on to something new, she told PEOPLE last month that her split from the marketing executive was one of the most difficult things she’d ever experienced.

“My divorce took me out,” Griffin, who was diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer two years before their split, admitted at the time. “I’m not going to lie. Some people are like, ‘I was glad I got rid of them, and I’ve never felt better.’ I was down for the count. It was harder than cancer.”
Back in October 2024, the comedian joked to PEOPLE that she was moving on from her divorce by “dating” all of her audiences throughout her My Life on the PTSD List tour.

“As corny as it sounds, if anything can restore my broken heart, it’s hearing the laughter from the audiences all over America and Canada,” Griffin said. “I’m looking at you Europe, you better call me next.”
And at the time, she couldn’t even fathom the idea of turning to dating apps to put herself out there again.
“Can you imagine me on the dating apps? I’m taking advice, obviously I’ll be starting with FarmersOnly.com,” she went on to joke. “I’m kidding, I don’t know anything about farming. But I am a bit of a hoe. There I said it.”
Griffin also teased that she had her sights set on one actor in particular — but she wasn’t sure if he was the most realistic option.
“I am open to darn near anything. Do you not know me? That’s how I get in trouble,” she quipped. “I had my eye on Marty Short, but that trollop Meryl Streep got in my way. You cannot trust these Hollywood phonies.”
