NEED TO KNOW
Music played a critical role in Gilmore Girls — and now fans can relive the sounds of the beloved series without having to rewatch all seven seasons.
From discussions about Rory Gilmore and Lane Kim’s favorite bands, to the iconic theme song and the “la, la, la, las” that brought viewers back from commercial breaks, music was at the heart of the TV show — along with Lorelai Gilmore’s beloved coffee, of course.

For the first time since the show premiered in 2000, the sounds that carried the series will be available across digital platforms, thanks to creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, who teamed up with Warner Bros. The 18-track album features composer Sam Phillips’ original work from all seven seasons, transporting listeners right back to Stars Hollow.
“If I had a new episode of Gilmore Girls for every request I’ve gotten over the years to release the ‘La La’s’ score for fans of the show, I would be beyond happy. But now I am thrilled to say that Warner Bros. Television/WaterTower Music asked me to put together an album of those ‘La La’s’ for any and all who want them,” Phillips shared.
“Even though I was listening to my own voice and melodies as I was working on the album, I felt like I was in Stars Hollow with all the snacks and coffee, drama and charm,” she continued. “I hope these little pieces of music take listeners back to the world of Lorelai and Rory…to the Gilmore universe we all love.”
The soundtrack is being released by Mutant, in partnership with WaterTower Music, and will be available in CD, vinyl and even cassette format. The vinyl comes in two color ways: an Autumn Leaves color vinyl and a Coffee color vinyl, honoring Lorelai’s favorite beverage.

Two other colorways will be available in Los Angeles at the Warner Brothers’ Holiday’s Made Here tour, where they’ll be celebrating 25 years of Gilmore Girls.
The Gilmore Girls Soundtrack from the Original Series is available now to pre-order, making it the perfect holiday gift for any fans of the series, which can be streamed on Netflix.
