Taylor Swift Came Up with the Idea for The Eras Tour 2 Years Before It Started

The Eras Tour was a part of Taylor Swift’s “wildest dreams” for awhile!

In a trailer for The End of an Era docuseries released on Thursday, Nov. 13, the pop megastar revealed exactly when she began dreaming up the idea of a massive tour.

“I came up with the idea for The Eras Tour about two years before the tour started,” Swift, 35, says in the footage.

She continues: “I wanted to overserve the fans in terms of the amount of songs they were gonna hear and how far I was gonna push myself. My main goal is to give something to the fans that they didn’t expect.”

Swift noted that the show created a “bonding experience for 70,000 people all at once.”

“There’s something very special about that,” she says.

On Nov. 13, Swift shared the trailer with a celebratory post on Instagram.

“Honestly can’t think of a better way to celebrate my (almost) birthday than to relive the Eras Tour with you! This time we’re going backstage. “The End of an Era”, a 6-episode behind-the-scenes docuseries, streams on @disneyplus beginning Dec 12 🫶,” Swift, 35.

On Oct. 13, it was revealed that the “Elizabeth Taylor” musician was releasing two new projects on Disney+ about her Eras Tour.

Per a press release, she announced her six-part docuseries The End of an Era, which charts “the development, impact, and inner-workings that created the phenomenon that was The Eras Tour.”

It will also give “an intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and thrilled fans around the world.”

Swift also announced she would premiere Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a live recording of her final performance on The Eras Tour, which took place on Dec. 8, 2024 at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada.

The news came shortly after the release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Oct. 3.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show and the first two episodes of The End of an Era are set to premiere on Disney+ on Dec. 12. Each week, two new episodes from the docuseries will be released.
