Ice Spice is heading to Bikini Bottom in the new SpongeBob movie.
On Thursday, Nov. 13, Paramount Pictures debuted the trailer for The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants, which sees Nickelodeon’s iconic sea sponge and his best friend Patrick Star set out on an adventure with The Flying Dutchman (voiced by Mark Hamill.)
“Desperate to be a big guy, SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman – a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate – on a seafaring comedy-adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before,” reads an official synopsis for the film.
Isis Gaston, a.k.a. Ice Spice, appears briefly in the trailer seemingly as a fish that works at Bikini Bottom High School, after Mr. Krabs and Squidward visit the school to rescue SpongeBob from his perilous adventure. The movie marks Ice Spice’s debut as a voice actor, and she also released a new single titled “Big Guy” to accompany the movie.
