NEED TO KNOW
Who’s ready to hear some new music from Jackie Apostel?
The songwriter took to Instagram on Tuesday, Nov. 11 to inform fans she’s looking to release an EP of original material as a duo called The Future Past Romantics Society with a friend who creates under the name Parked Up.
Apostel’s announcement comes after she previously spoke about not wanting to release music as a recording artist in 2022 — and she explained her developed thoughts in the Instagram post’s caption.
“since I have zero intention of being an artist and stages frighten me like no other but I have about 200 bloody songs that are just stuck in a dropbox vault we’ve been brainstorming a way to get them out and about to your ears,” she began. “@parked_up and I made quite a lot of fun little easy futuristic tunes a while ago and have been playing around with the idea of a joint EP, not us, nothing serious, just the @futurepastromanticssociety.”
Apostel continued, “a collection of songs too personal to pitch to other artists but that deserve to be heard and blasted in your car, not just by our friends. so here’s us exploring and trying to use tech for good, visuals inspired by Al Pacino’s S1MONE movie. (if you haven’t seen it go watch it now it’s more relevant than ever!)”
She added, “no I will never be performing these even if they come out, they’re just our gift to you.”
The caption was shared alongside a futuristic video set to the duo’s song “What Love’s About.” She concluded the note by asking fans if they should release the song.
Apostel has released music in the past, including a 2020 EP called The Reformation. “My intention was and has never been to become a recording, touring artist,” she wrote on Instagram in 2022.
“I’m a studio rat, I’m a creator, I’m a writer, a producer and an artist in many ways, but releasing the songs we did myself was always just a way of showcasing the tracks,” she continued at the time.

Last month, Apostel’s boyfriend Cruz Beckham released two new songs, “Optics” and “Lick the Toad.”
In an Instagram post shared last week, Apostel praised Cruz’s parents David and Victoria Beckham as well as how they “support each other’s ambitions.”
“There’s nothing quite as beautiful as seeing deserving and truly GOOD people achieve their dreams,” her caption began. “What an inspiration to everyone to always keep going and never lose your character, drive but also kindness. no matter how crazy a dream is or how long it could take.”

She said the “most inspiring thing” about the Beckhams’ marriage is to watch how they both “support each other’s ambitions.”
“You’re dedicated not only to yourselves reaching your maximum potential but also, each other. and you celebrate each win as if it was your own,” added Apostel.
The musician also praised the couple for mastering “the balance between that and just plain love and family time every day,” adding that “there’s nothing more aspirational than that.”
