Kelly Clarkson made a triumphant return to the stage at her Las Vegas residency — and the night was full of surprises!
The “Where Have You Been” singer, 43, performed her first Studio Sessions show on Friday, Nov. 7, following a months-long break. During the concert at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she oversaw a fan’s proposal to his boyfriend, as well as another couple’s vow renewal ceremony.
In a video of the proposal shared online, Clarkson can be seen standing at the edge of the stage, holding her microphone out to the crowd. Below her, in the pit area of the venue, a man kneeled on the floor and held out a ring as his surprised partner stood with his hands covering his face in shock.
Clarkson encouragingly yelled out, “Speak louder!”
The kneeling man then asked, “Will you marry me?” Before his partner had a chance to answer, Clarkson playfully prompted him, “Say ‘yes,’ bitch!”
“Yes, bitch!” he gamely yelled into her microphone, sparking lots of clapping and cheers from the audience.

After the man slipped the ring on his partner’s finger, Clarkson said, “That’s so sweet!”
The couple, who shared that they were visiting from London, promised the Grammy winner, “You’re invited to the wedding now.”
Then, things took a humorous turn as Clarkson jokingly told the two men to “do me a favor and ignore this next song.”
“Just stay in this moment, just hang out there, you know what I’m saying? Maybe go to the bathroom. I don’t wanna poo on your parade,” she said, explaining that the song “starts like this” — with a happy relationship milestone — “but then it ends [very differently].”
Later into Clarkson’s set, another romantic moment unfolded when the star helped a couple renew their vows after 10 years of marriage.
“You made it a decade? F— yeah, look at that!” Clarkson can be heard exclaiming in a video shared online.

A woman, one half of the couple, then handed the musician a sheet of paper with the vows and requested that she read them. Clarkson playfully pointed out that she couldn’t officially officiate the ceremony — “but I can go online tonight, and it’ll happen,” she joked — before making a lighthearted jab at her fellow coach on The Voice.
“If Blake Shelton can do this, any f—ing person can do this,” she quipped. “They’ll let anyone do it.”
“Is this as classy as you were expecting it?” she jokingly asked the married couple.
Clarkson then continued to read out the vows. “Do you both promise to keep dancing through life together — this is amazing! — offbeat or not, for at least another 10 years?” she asked at one point.
When the couple responded, “We do,” Clarkson replied, “F— that! 50, 60. Aim high! Just saying.”

She concluded the ceremony by declaring, “Then by the power of Kelly Clarkson, I now pronounce you still married and still awesome.”
Friday night’s show marked Clarkson’s first Las Vegas residency concert since her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s Aug. 7 death. After taking several months off from performing, the “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer announced on Instagram on Nov. 3 that she would be returning to the Colosseum stage from Nov. 7-15, and had also added new show dates in July and August 2026.
