NEED TO KNOW
Kim Kardashian says she’s “not a lawyer yet.”
Months after taking the California bar exam on July 29 and July 30, the SKIMS founder and reality star, 45, revealed her results on Saturday, Nov. 8.
In a candid Instagram Stories post, Kim shared that she failed to pass the exam — but is still determined to achieve her goal.
“Well…I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” she wrote. “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up – just more studying and even more determination.”
“Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way so far. Failing short isn’t failure – it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivated me even more. Let’s go!” she added.

The two-day test is rigorous, with a pass rate of 63.6% for those who took the exam in February.
Given just twice per year, the California bar exam consists of five one-hour essay questions, one 90-minute performance test and 200 multiple-choice questions.
According to the California State Bar’s website, approximately 16,000 people take the exam each year.
The bar exam is the latest step on Kim’s quest to become a lawyer and follow in the footsteps of her father, Robert Kardashian.
Kim revealed in 2019 that her legal aspirations kicked off the previous year when she decided to take on an apprenticeship with a San Francisco-based law firm, a way around the traditional college route available in California and three other U.S. states.

Over the years, Kim has worked in the areas of prison reform and clemency advocacy, helping the likes of Chris Young and Alice Marie Johnson to see their sentences commuted.
In 2021, Kim revealed that she had passed the baby bar exam, also known as the First-Year Law Student’s Examination, on her fourth try.
“OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!!” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection.”
“For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me,” she added.
Kim added: “I was told by top lawyers that this was a close to impossible journey and harder than the traditional law school route but it was my only option and it feels so so sooooo good to be here and on my way to achieving my goals.”
Kim took another important test on her legal journey earlier this year.
The mother of four took the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) in Los Angeles, PEOPLE confirmed in March.
Passing this test with a score of at least 86 is a requirement to practice law in California, according to the State Bar of California.

Kim celebrated her graduation from her Law Office Study Program in May.
The program took Kim six years to complete due to her work schedule and the COVID pandemic, instead of the traditional four years.
“Six years ago, I embarked on an unconventional path to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer,” she wrote on Instagram. “It wasn’t easy, and it took longer than planned, but I never gave up. Each course brought moments of doubt, tears, and triumph – especially when I conquered subjects I initially feared.”
