NEED TO KNOW
It appears like Chrishell Stause’s time on Selling Sunset has come to an end.
In a November 2025 interview with Bustle, the reality star seemingly announced that she will not return to the hit series. Netflix has not commented on the star’s remarks.
While speaking to Variety a month prior, Stause admitted that she “liked” filming season 9, despite her conflicts with costars Nicole Young and Emma Hernan. In reality, it was the reunion that ultimately determined her future on the show.
“The reunion was so brutal,” she said. “In that moment, I realized I will be done here going forward. I wish everyone the best, but this isn’t the place for me. It felt a little bit like a dog pile.”
Here’s everything to know about Chrishell Stause’s exit from Selling Sunset, including what’s next for her career.
Is Chrishell Stause leaving Selling Sunset?
Netflix
Stause told Bustle in November 2025 that she won’t be coming back to Selling Sunset if it is renewed for season 10.
“I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past. It’s no longer good for my mental health,” she told the outlet.
But it wasn’t an easy decision for the reality star.
“I have to be honest — having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down,” Stause said. “I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially. I’m lucky to have other forms of employment.”
Still, Selling Sunset creator Adam DiVello isn’t ready to let her go. Stause told Bustle he’s been calling and texting “100 times a day” since she announced her exit.
The Kentucky native admits she isn’t leaving on the best note, but says she has “no ill will toward the show.”
“If they do continue, I wish them the best,” Stause said. “If they do do another one, by then, I may not watch it. I don’t know. The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don’t want to be bitter about it.”
Netflix has yet to comment on Stause’s departure.
What happened to Chrishell Stause during Selling Sunset season 9?
Netflix
For Stause, season 9 was anything but quiet, with the star caught up in two explosive storylines.
The ongoing drama between Stause and Young spilled over once again in the latest season. Tensions date back to season 6, when Stause publicly accused Young of using drugs, which Young has repeatedly denied. Things intensified in season 8 after Young claimed that Stause’s best friend, Hernan, had an affair with a married man. (Hernan has denied the accusations.)
In season 9, episode 2, the conflict reignited during a Girlsgiving dinner hosted by cast member Amanza Smith. The argument quickly turned personal, with Young referencing Stause’s late parents in the context of drug use.
“Honey, you’re confusing me with your parents, okay? You seem to be obsessed with drugs,” Young said. The comment struck a nerve, as Stause has previously been open about her parents’ struggles with addiction.
The confrontation had serious consequences: Young was asked to leave the brokerage by Jason and Brett Oppenheim. However, she later told Netflix’s Tudum that she wasn’t fired, but asked to stop coming into The Oppenheim Group office.

Stause and Hernan’s friendship began to unravel during season 9 of Selling Sunset after Hernan introduced her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Blake Davis, whom she has been dating since at least 2024. Stause didn’t shy away from criticizing Davis, sparking a public feud.
“When I met [Blake], there were so many red flags that happened in one short meeting,” Stause told Variety. “Sometimes you meet someone and you may not like the way they dress, or they may rub you the wrong way because they’re a little awkward. I found real things to be dangerous with his personality.”
She accused Davis of saying “extremely problematic things” that clashed with her values — including “comparing people being nonbinary to mental illness,” a comment she saw as a direct swipe at her partner, G Flip, who uses they/them pronouns.
Hernan and Davis parted ways by the end of season 9, but appear to have reconciled since filming wrapped. When Variety asked Stause for her take, she didn’t hold back, saying, “At this point, they deserve each other. I wish them the best.”
Davis denied Stause’s allegations in a May 2025 Daily Mail interview. PEOPLE reached out to Netflix representatives for comment but did not hear back.
The conversation about Davis carried over into the Selling Sunset season 9 reunion, where Stause felt her costars largely sided with Hernan. She told Bustle that she wished she had spoken up more — or expressed a few points differently — but there came a point where she mentally withdrew.
“I think, after so many hours, I felt like, ‘Sit here, get through it. You’re not a quitter, but you never have to do this again,’ ” she said.
During an interview with Variety in October 2025, Stause told the outlet that her friendship with Hernan will “never” be the same.
“I don’t want to be friends with her anymore,” she continued. “[Emma’s] made it very clear what her morals are, and we do not align.”
Will Chrishell Stause continue to work for The Oppenheim Group?
Netflix
While she’s announced her departure from Selling Sunset, Stause has not addressed her future with The Oppenheim Group.
Currently, Stause is focusing on starting a family with G Flip, telling Bustle that she’s giving in-vitro fertilization (IVF) “one more chance.”
“It’s a process and it’s expensive as well,” she continued. “And now I’m looking for a new job, so I need to be wise about this.”
She’s also eyeing a hosting role on The Ultimatum: Queer Love, which Netflix canceled in October 2025, per Variety.
“I would love it if another streamer wanted to pick it up, and I would love to host it,” she told the outlet. “I have a passion for wanting to host a show like this, and I would die to do it. It would be a dream job.”
In November 2025, Stause announced her Selling Sunset departure on her Instagram Stories, writing, “You will see me again, so it’s not goodbye. Just goodbye for now.”
