NEED TO KNOW
Teyana Taylor is clarifying her terms of endearment for partner Aaron Pierre.
“That’s my apple pie, and we are each other’s safe space,” Taylor, 34, told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent cover story pegged to her buzzy performance in One Battle After Another (in theaters now).
The actress declined to further label her relationship with Pierre, 31, to whom she’s been linked since early this year; the pair confirmed their romance in June 2025 after months of flirting on social media.
“If that’s something that I decide to say,” Taylor told THR of labels, “then it’s going to be something that we say together.”

British-born Pierre first had fans questioning his friendship with Taylor when he posted photos with her at the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala in February. The two then costarred as a couple in Taylor’s visual album Escape Room.
More recently in an interview with Men’s Health, the Rebel Ridge star said that making their red carpet debut as a couple at a September One Battle After Another premiere was “a joy” and “so easy to do because I was supporting someone who I love. Anything that feels right feels easy.”
Speaking to THR, Taylor revealed that a viral video she had posted to her Instagram Stories, of her gyrating against a video billboard of Pierre’s BOSS campaign in a London store, had been filmed by the Mufasa star himself.
The mother of two also addressed navigating life amid a banner career year, between releasing new music for the first time in years and starring in One Battle After Another, Straw and Hulu drama All’s Fair. “It’s about learning to not bite the bait,” said Taylor. “When people know that you’re sensitive to something, you will get poked and poked and poked and poked. I want to be careful with my words because it seems like every time I say something, it’s always misconstrued.”
She added that she’s “still wondering” how to navigate balancing everything on her plate. “I respect every set I’m on. I respect the people that I work with. And I ask for respect of my time off. I need to be with my babies.”
One Battle After Another is in theaters now and All’s Fair began airing on Nov. 4. Among Taylor’s upcoming screen projects are Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s The Rip and comedy film 72 Hours.
