Jessica Simpson’s appearance on All’s Fair had viewers doing a double take — and not just because it marked her return to acting after two decades away.
In Ryan Murphy’s new legal drama, the “I Wanna Love You Forever” singer, 45, took on the role of Lee-Ann, a woman who found herself with a botched face after being pressured to go under the knife by her ex-husband (Rick Springfield).
When she becomes a client of an all-female law firm helmed by divorce attorneys Allura Grant (Kim Kardashian), Liberty Ronson (Naomi Watts) and private investigator Emerald Greene (Niecy Nash-Betts), they learn that she has taken revenge into her own hands.
“We’ve been married almost three years. I knew he had had one affair — probably more. So when he had told me to get plastic surgery, I couldn’t say no,” Simpson’s character said in the episode, “I Want Revenge,” which debuted on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

A close-up displayed the result of her procedures, as Lee-Ann added that she made the decision to go through with it when “my marriage was at stake.”
Then, a flashback shows a look at her love story as Lee-Ann develops a passionate physical connection with the rock star, Tommy, who later told her she had to have plastic surgery when she turned 40.
Although she ultimately won her legal battle against the musician, that wasn’t enough vengeance for the scorned woman. So, when she caught him on a date with a younger girl later in the episode, she decided to pour sulfuric acid on him.
In May, the fashion designer opened up about physically transforming into the role for All’s Far, revealing to Entertainment Tonight, “I did eight hours of prosthetics.”
“It was very intense, but props to the prosthetics team,” she said at the time. “You know I love you guys so much. They said I had the most patience of anyone they’ve ever worked with, so that’s a good compliment. But I really embody someone that I’m not, so I was definitely acting.”

First announced in 2023, the Hulu series follows “a team of female divorce attorneys” who “leave a male-dominated firm to open their own powerhouse practice,” per the official logline. Along with Kardashian, Watts and Nash-Betts, the cast also includes Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson and Teyana Taylor.
In October, the SKIMS founder teased how each episode will be unique during an interview with PEOPLE.
“The theme every week is we have a story of a woman going through an unfortunate situation, and we’re there to help her,” she explained. “I think that the moral of this story for us as women is even if you are having a hard time, even if you don’t believe in yourself at that moment, your lawyers are there, your girls are there to pick you up and help you believe in yourself again.”
