NEED TO KNOW
Jason Tartick thinks Bachelorette producers made the right call by tapping Taylor Frankie Paul for the upcoming season.
The Bachelor Nation alum, 37, talks exclusively with PEOPLE about his hopes for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star’s season, and who he still stays in touch with from his time on the show.
“Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette, I’m jazzed for it. I think it’s going to be absolutely electric,” Tartick shares.
“Their decision-making of finding someone who’s already in the network who has material social currency is wildly different and almost opposed to their entire blueprint of, ‘Are you here for the right reasons,'” Tartick notes, which he says was always “one of the biggest” questions they would ask former contestants.

“We’re taking someone relevant that deserves love, who’s done reality TV, we’re breaking down the mold and hitting restart,” he adds. “I’m jazzed up for her season. I think it’s gonna be like wildly entertaining. I can’t wait.”
As for his plans to watch, Tartick says, “I’ll tune in every week to that one.”
Tartick was a contestant on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette in 2018. Along with some people from his season, the former banker also made friends with people from other seasons. In fact, he shares that “there’s a whole group of us that keep in touch and we have a fantasy football league.”
“Tyler Cameron and I are really good buddies,” he adds, noting that Cameron, Dean Bell, Ben Higgins, Nick Viall and Matt James are all in the league, just to name a few.
Since Tartick’s time on the ABC series, he’s published two books, started a podcast, Trading Secrets, and started a talent management agency that represents public figures, influencers, creators and celebrities. He splits his time between Nashville and New York City.
While he admits he’s been through “the highs and lows of love life,” he recently adopted his dog at a non-profit called Wags and Walks.
While protecting your heart is important, Tartick also learned that protecting your business and personal assets is just as crucial.
Tartick is partnering with Yubico and their product, the YubiKeys, to spread awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. When it comes to cybersecurity and keeping yourself safe, Tartick says, “Use your gut.”

“If it looks fishy, it probably is fishy. If you do click on something, which you likely will because it’s the number one cause of breaches, having a backup technology to protect you is just another layer. That’s where YubiKeys come in,” he tells PEOPLE.
“My entire career, even before reality TV and to this day, is tied up in finance and protecting my assets and other people’s assets,” he continues. “I use YubiKeys for my company and myself, and it’s two-factor authentication.”
“It’s just creating a situation where you could always protect yourself because there are billions of emails and daily security experts out there saying there are 3.4 billion phishing emails that are sent out globally every day.”
Tartick says he gets phishing attempts in his inbox “every single day,” whether they be “finance-related,” “fraudulent charges,” fake “text messages,” or even “verifications through social media apps.”
“All it takes is literally one click. But I’ve fallen for them,” he says.
Knowing he’s protected, Tartick can now focus on falling in love, over falling for a phishing attempt.
