NEED TO KNOW
Nobody Wants This is back — with some new faces!
The Netflix rom-com follows rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) and agnostic sex podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell) as they try to navigate their unlikely — though adorable — romance, despite several obstacles standing in their way. Following its release on the streaming platform in September 2024, fans fell in love with its star-studded ensemble, which also includes supporting cast members Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn and Justine Lupe.
Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated series was released on the streaming platform on Oct. 24, seeing Brody and Bell’s characters attempt to leave the honeymoon phase and make their relationship work. In addition to returning fan-favorites, seven new characters made their debuts.
“If we got lucky with our main cast, we got just as lucky with our guest stars,” creator Erin Foster told Tudum ahead of the season’s release. But, they aren’t just any guest stars — two of them happen to be the real-life partners of two of the cast members.
Ahead of its release, Bell told Entertainment Weekly that it got “so incestuous” on set, explaining that Brody’s wife, Leighton Meester, and Tohn’s boyfriend, Joe Gillette, play a married couple on-screen.
“I had a blast on set saying, ‘Jackie’s boyfriend is playing Adam’s wife’s husband and Adam’s wife is playing Jackie’s boyfriend’s wife,’ ” Bell said. “It was like breaking the sim.”
Here’s everything to know about the new cast members who joined season 2 of Nobody Wants This.

Arian Moayed joins the season 2 cast as Morgan’s (Lupe) love interest (and former therapist!), Dr. Andy.
“Morgan has a big season,” Foster told Entertainment Weekly. “She finds a romantic connection in a fairly inappropriate place as a response to her sister trying to level up out of this dynamic that they’re both a part of.”
Prior to joining the comedy, Moayed starred as Stewy Hosseini in HBO’s Succession and appeared in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Leighton Meester as Abby

Meester — Brody’s real-life wife — guest stars in episode 5 as Abby, Joanne’s middle school nemesis who has since become an “Instagram mommy influencer,” otherwise known as “Abby Loves Smoothies.”
In Noah’s first post-Temple Chai rabbi gig, he works Abby and her husband’s baby naming event — and brings Joanne along for the day.
Ahead of the show’s release, the actress told PEOPLE that Nobody Wants This was one of the “most fun” sets she has ever worked on.
“I know that everyone has so much fun on it, and when I went on, I mean, it was one of the most fun times that I’ve had on a set,” she said.
Meanwhile, Brody told PEOPLE in September 2025 that although they didn’t share many scenes, he enjoyed being able to watch and “admire” his wife from the sidelines.
Meester is famously known for her role as Blair Waldorf in The CW’s Gossip Girl, though she has also starred in 2010’s Country Strong, 2011’s The Roommate and 2012’s That’s My Boy.

Seth Rogen joins the cast as Rabbi Neil, a progressive rabbi who offers Noah a position at his ultra-modern congregation, Ahava.
Rogen is no stranger to comedic roles, as he’s starred in 2007’s Superbad, 2007’s Knocked Up, 2008’s Pineapple Express and 2014’s Neighbors.

Kate Berlant appears as Cami, Rabbi Neil’s counterpart at Ahava.
Speaking to Tudum about Berlant and Rogen’s on-screen appearances, co-showrunner Jenni Konner said their “energy together was a dream.”
“When you get brilliant people to come in, it makes your writing and the show better,” she said.
The stand-up comedian has previously appeared in 2019’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, 2022’s Don’t Worry Darling and 2023’s Dream Scenario.
Miles Fowler as Lenny

Prior to his Nobody Wants This role, Fowler appeared in 2023’s Bottoms and 2024’s Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead.
Alex Karpovsky as Big Noah

Karpovsky is best known for his role as Ray Ploshansky in HBO’s Girls, though he has also starred in 2012’s Red Flag and 2016’s Folk Hero & Funny Guy.
