NEED TO KNOW
Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie Xo is defending her decision to stick by her husband after he revealed that he cheated on her several years ago.
The “I Am Not Okay” singer, 40, revealed on the Human School podcast on Oct. 21 that he’d had an affair some years ago, but that he and Bunnie, 45, later reconciled, and are now “stronger” than ever.
In a social media comment, Bunnie weighed in, explaining to a fan why she decided to work things out with Jelly, and how their relationship is better for it.
The woman wrote that she was “super bummed” by Bunnie’s decision to take Jelly back, and felt that the Dumb Blonde podcast host was no longer someone she could “look up to.”

In a response that Bunnie (real name Alyssa DeFord) also shared to her Instagram Stories, she explained to the fan why she believed that she’d actually showed more strength in forgiveness. She accompanied the post with a yawning emoji and the Ozzy Osbourne song “No More Tears.”
“It actually takes a stronger woman to face pain head-on, do the work, and rebuild with the man she loves — instead of running or gossiping,” Bunnie wrote. “Growth isn’t weakness, it’s grace. But not everyone’s built for that kind of strength. I pray you never have to feel that pain bc you’re judging another woman’s life.❤️”
She also revealed that she would share the entire story in her upcoming memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, which hits shelves on Feb. 10, 2026.
Jelly and Bunnie were married in 2016, and Bunnie revealed last year in a TikTok that they’d briefly split in 2018. On the podcast, Jelly said cheating on his wife was “one of the worst moments” of his adult life.
“One of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife,” he said. “Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It just really, really, really blew me back.”

The singer said he’d put in “a lot of work to repair” the relationship, and he felt that he and Bunnie are doing better than ever.
“I wish our story would’ve went in the way that it never had an affair, and I’m in way glad it happened, but man, I’m proud of who we are today,” he said. “I truly am.”
In Bunnie’s TikTok, she said that her and Jelly’s “castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground.”
In 2023, Jelly shared a “Bunnie appreciation post” to Instagram, writing that she’s “been nothing but supportive” of his journey over the years.
“To watch what this woman has overcome and her passion and determination to be something better has inspired me from the moment I met her,” he wrote. “She saved me in one of the darkest times of my life.”
