NEED TO KNOW
Being online in the world of influencers right now means sometimes doing a double-take when the Pheloung twins cross your feed.
Identical twins Brigette and Danielle Pheloung, 28, have taken the fashion and lifestyle influencing world by storm in recent years, amassing over 3 million followers across their Instagram and TikTok accounts between them.
Danielle’s content has touched on her shift from a job in corporate America to her space in the lifestyle influencer world. Meanwhile, Brigette, who is better known online as Acquired Style, has an online presence for pushing her fashion chops to the limits, trying out over-the-top outfits and hairstyles online.

The pair frequently appear in one another’s content, sharing (like sisters are apt to do) their interactions in their day-to-day lives with followers.
For the twins, having the same look isn’t just a gimmick or a product of circumstance — instead, they say it’s what sets them apart in a saturated market.
Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE in advance of the launch of their new collaboration with slipper brand Dearfoams, the sisters say the twin power they portray online is both the point and the plan.
“We try to use it as an advantage because it’s unique,” Danielle explains.
Brigette echoes her sister, saying, “Playing into the sister and twin thing is kind of our leg up in this industry, when standing out is kind of tough because everyone is an influencer these days.”
Collaborating on designing Dearfoams slippers is just one of the many ways that the sisters have carved out space to work with each other.
They’re constantly busy — a glimpse at their pages recently shows them running from workout classes in the morning to attending the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show at night — but have fashion content to serve to their millions of followers, meaning that a good pair of cozy slippers fit right in to the background of their 5 a.m. pilates runs or uber-aesthetic Sunday reset videos.
“Danielle and I have always really prioritized coziness and comfort, but also we love style and design, so being able to bring those things together and really create these slippers to really feel like us,” Brigette says.
And, of course, the sisters’ bonds go beyond the grid. Up until about a year ago, the pair shared that they had also never even lived apart from one another.

“We share everything … we used to live together for our whole life since the womb, and we recently, in the past year, separated,” says Brigette, who moved in with her now-fiancé.
“But whenever I need something, she’s just a 10-minute walk away and I grab it,” Danielle adds. “The idea of separating was hard, but I feel like it’s been really seamless and very natural because we still see each other and work together every single day.”
The Pheloungs are perhaps not typical sisters in that working, living and playing so closely together doesn’t necessarily end in fights, like it might with many others.
“I think sisters always butt heads no matter what,” Brigette laughs.
“But I feel like…” Danielle starts.
“We work really well together,” Brigette finishes.
The pair says that they can often be found bouncing ideas off of each other and that they help each other film content every day.
“I feel like we have never fought less in our lives than being influencers and content creators together,” says Danielle.
While many content creators have opened up about the pressure to perform, the pair is grateful to be in the space they are in.
“I think any job has pressure,” Brigette says. “At the end of the day, it’s a job. And I feel like we both feel so blessed to even have this pressure because the job is the best thing ever.”
As the holidays and the end of the year approach, the twins have a lot to look forward to as their ever-busy schedules continue to ramp up. For Brigette, the holidays are a particularly fun time, as the creator has gone viral for her over-the-top holiday outfits in recent years.
Last year, for Thanksgiving, she wore a custom, strapless sweater ballgown that was cable knit and cost nearly $9K. Of this year’s upcoming look, she teases: “I am doing something custom and I am very excited. I feel like every year I take it to the next level.”

As for the regular holiday season, the two style moguls have “acquired” a few tips in their line of work that take a slightly different approach from Brigette’s one-time, social hit looks.
“Invest in pieces that you can continue to wear and are timeless and can be styled multiple ways,” Brigette says.
Brigette also got engaged this year, and wedding planning is also part of the to-do list for both sisters.
“I am so excited for my wedding. I would be this excited no matter what, no matter if I had social media as my job,” she says. “I love how people publicize their wedding and put that all over socials. I definitely will be doing the same… I don’t feel necessarily more pressure because of that, but I think it’ll be even more amazing because I’m able to share it online.”
Shockingly, Brigette has yet to ask Danielle to be her maid-of-honor, but the ask is in the works.
“I want to support Brigette as much as possible… it’s a really exciting moment for both of us,” she says. “I think she’s going to be a very, poised, chic and beautiful bride.”
Both of the sisters say that they “thrive off of pressure” that their platforms bring them.
“We are so grateful every day and even when we’re so busy or feel a certain pressure to get a bunch of content up or be on top of trends, to us, that’s an amazing problem and pressure to have,” says Brigette.
