NEED TO KNOW
Sabrina Carpenter is making one designer’s dreams come true.
Abby Price, the designer behind the New York City-based embroidery brand Abbode, revealed that she embroidered a shirt for the 26-year-old pop star to wear during her Oct. 18th appearance on Saturday Night Live, where she served as both host and musical guest.
In a TikTok shared on Sunday, Oct. 19, Price says that she created a shirt for Carpenter but had “no idea” if she was actually going to wear it during the show. “We’re about to watch and see if she wears it,” she tells the camera. “If she does, I still have no idea when in the segment it’s gonna air. So fingers crossed she ends up wearing it.”
The video then cuts to Price’s television showing Carpenter’s performance of her song, “Manchild.” The singer wears a yellow T-shirt with the phrase “Live from New York” embroidered on it, along with a pair of pink underwear.
“She’s wearing it!” Price exclaims as she watches on in excitement. “Oh my god!”

Price’s followers shared in her excitement. One of them commented, “Not only did she wear it, but she wore it during the Manchild performance?? Also your shirt was like 98% of her outfit sooo 😅 love this for you thanks for sharing your accomplishment/joy with us! 🥰”
Many also asked the designer to sell the T-shirts on her website. “I gasped when I saw her in this. It’s SO cute. PLEASE SELL THESE💗💗” one wrote, while another posted, “I’ve been googling this shirt allllllll day trying to get one PLEASE SELL OMG.”
A third shared, “omg I was OBSESSED with the combo! I love the shirt sooo much, you should absolutely sell it 😍 commented on it throughout the performance!”
Carpenter’s SNL gig featured memorable moments including the “Taste” singer playing a 12-year-old male podcast host and reprising her Domingo sketch during the cold open. Along with “Manchild,” she sang an uncensored version of “Nobody’s Son.”
Viewers on the East Coast were shocked when Carpenter sang “He sure f—– me up” without any censoring. A slight delay for viewers on the West Coast, however, allowed a few seconds of silence where the expletive was said.
In her opening monologue, the Grammy winner playfully addressing the backlash she got for the cover art of her latest album, Man’s Best Friend. “Some people got a little freaked out by the cover,” Carpenter said. “I’m not sure why? It was just this: me on all fours, with an unseen figure pulling my hair. But what people don’t realize is that’s just how they cropped it.”
“If you zoom out, it’s clearly a picture from the 50th anniversary special of Bowen [Yang] helping me up by the hair, after Martin Short shoved me out of the buffet line, saying something like, ‘Daddy needs his mini quiche,’ ” she then joked.
The episode marked Carpenter’s second time on SNL. She previously served as a musical guest in May 2024, and she also appeared on SNL50: The Anniversary Special, which aired in February.
