Ina Garten is kicking off a new season of her hit Food Network series Be My Guest with a little help from Tina Fey, and PEOPLE has an exclusive sneak peek.
On Sunday, Oct. 19, the iconic chef, 77, returns with the seventh season of her Emmy winning show. Each episode, she invites a famous friend and viewers into her East Hampton, N.Y. home for a day of cooking and meaningful conversation.
The new season kicks off with the 55-year-old Mean Girls actress joining the Barefoot Contessa star to prepare a menu including Breakfast Panna Cotta and Chicken Thighs with Creamy Mustard Sauce. Fey even takes center stage to present her dish — Greek Lemon Potatoes.
A first-look at the upcoming season shows the ladies sharing jokes and glasses of wine.
“This is technically STEM, what you’re doing. This is science right now,” Fey joked as the famed chef walked her through how to make the perfect cream sauce to accompany her chicken dish.
As Fey rushed to help Garten get the dish together, she joked that they’ve “been screaming at each other” as though they were in the midst of an episode of The Bear.

While comedy and cooking might seem worlds apart to some, the stars found common ground while bonding over the “rule of threes.”
In comedy, Fey explained, “If there’s something like a gag happening in a show or something, if you repeat it, you should repeat it three times.” Meanwhile, Garten explained that in the cooking world, it was considered more aesthetically pleasing to plate items in threes.
Fey also revealed a plating tip that she picked up from Garten over the years: “You want to show what it’s going to taste like,” she said while plating her potatoes with wedges of lemons.

Previous seasons saw stars like Faith Hill, Jennifer Garner and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Garten’s kitchen.
The seventh season of Be My Guest with Ina Garten premieres on the Food Network on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. ET/PT. Fans will be able to catch the show on HBO Max the following day.
