Aziz Ansari is still laughing about the fun of making Parks and Recreation.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Good Fortune, the comedian, 42, said he still loves revisiting bloopers of the beloved series, which ran for seven seasons from 2009 to 2015.
“When you watch the bloopers, because that’s kind of more what I remember… because when you watch the show, it’s all of the stuff we did kind of edited down to one thing, but my memories are more kind of behind the scenes. So anytime I watch those old Parks bloopers [is my favorite],” he shared.
As for one scene that particularly still gets him, Ansari recalls a scene he shares with Adam Scott, who played Ben Wyatt.

“There’s a scene when Joan Callamezzo says, ‘I’m gonna go powder my nose, amongst other things.’ And then Adam Scott says to me, ‘She’s gonna powder her vagina?’ and we couldn’t get through the scene,” he laughs, adding, “We were breaking so much.”
“And we said, ‘Let’s skip that part, and we’ll do the later stuff. We’ll come back to [that],’ which I’d never done in anything.”
Ansari continued, “I love my Parks family and I’m sure everybody gets a little tired of us all saying that every time we’re asked about it on interviews, but it’s true.”

Since the show ended, several cast members went on to find lasting success: Aubrey Plaza appeared in season 2 of HBO’s hit show The White Lotus and the Marvel series Agatha All Along while Scott, 52, currently stars in the Emmy-winning series Severance on Apple TV+.
Amid their busy schedules, the Parks and Recreation alums stay in touch via group chat, known to the cast as “Parks Family Text.” O’Heir told NPR’s Book of the Day that “to this day, [we] are good friends, and we love each other.”
