NEED TO KNOW
Reid Perry has left his family’s band.
Reid, The Band Perry’s bassist and background vocalist, announced on Monday, Oct. 13, that he is stepping away from the trio to focus on artist management.
“To the fans, you’ve always been my favorite part of this. I’ve decided to leave TBP. I’ll be missing seeing you in the crowd at a Band Perry show but I’ll be around,” Reid, 36, wrote in an Instagram message. “For me it was and will always be about making great country music, with and for the hardworking people who love it and live it. Thank you for every memory, I’ll see you back in the saddle. I wish Kimberly and TBP the best as they move forward into the future.”

In his announcement, Reid also revealed that he’ll be managing the rising country singer and The Voice alum Ryan Coleman, whom he called “a new voice I believe in more than anything.”
With Reid’s exit, his older sister Kimberly, 42, is now the only remaining original member of the group.
Kimberly acknowledged Reid’s departure on Instagram, commenting, “Reid! Wishing you the most wonderful successes in your new era! Love you, brother!”

The siblings founded The Band Perry with their younger brother Neil, 35, and broke through in 2010 with their No. 1 hit “If I Die Young,” which helped earn them honors at the ACMs, CMAs and CMT Awards; they also won the 2015 Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Gentle on My Mind.”
After making a pop detour with their independent 2018 EP Coordinates, the trio announced in 2023 that The Band Perry was taking a hiatus to pursue “individual creative pursuits,” which included Kimberly’s solo EP Bloom.
Earlier this year, the band returned to country music, with Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Costello, stepping in for Neil as they released a remastered version of their self-titled breakthrough album to mark its 15th anniversary.
Reid married Rae Del Bianco, a Western novelist, screenwriter and LGBTQ+ rights activist, in 2023.
