Tina Turner fans don’t think this sculpture of her is simply the best.
On Saturday, Sept. 27, in the late singer’s hometown of Brownsville, Tenn., a statue honoring the singer was unveiled. The 10-foot-tall bronze sculpture was designed by sculptor Fred Ajanogha and depicts Turner striking a pose in a minidress.
The artist also mentioned that his goal was to capture Turner’s powerful presence and likened her hair to the “mane of a lion,” per ABC News. The statue’s debut was part of the town’s annual Tina Turner Heritage Days.
