NEED TO KNOW
Teyana Taylor is not taking questions about her relationship with Aaron Pierre at this time.
Taylor, 34, avoided discussing her actor boyfriend Pierre 31, when she appeared on the Today show on Tuesday, Sept. 23 to promote her new movie One Battle After Another.
“Oh, thank you,” she said, when Today show cohost Craig Melvin noted that Taylor and Pierre made their red carpet debut together at the movie’s London premiere on Sept. 16 and said that fans seem to “love the two of you together.”
Taylor laughed and appeared to purposefully avoid answering questions about her relationship during the interview. “I get so shy and blushy; I just get so shy,” she said with a laugh at one point. “Oh my God, it’s too early! It’s so early,” she added, when Melving asked how she and Pierre first met.
Pierre and Taylor first sparked relationship rumors when they were seen chatting at the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala in February 2025 and attended the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty together in March. The couple continued flirting with each other on social media for four months before she went public with their relationship on Instagram with a post celebrating his 31st birthday on June 7. “Cheers to Thirty-WON & many more wins around the sun. 🌹H”AP”PY BIRTHDAY Woody 🎈,” she wrote in a caption to that post.

Taylor, who shares young daughters Rue Rose, 5, and Iman “Junie” Tayla. 9, with her ex-husband and former NBA player Iman Shumpert, also featured Pierre in a music video for her June single “Long Time” and in the visual album that accompanied her album Escape Room in August.
After debuting her new album, Taylor is on the press tour to support One Battle After Another, the new movie from writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson that she stars in alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, Chase Infiniti, Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro. Taylor portrays a member of a revolutionary group who are hunted down by Penn’s military character Steven Lockjaw throughout the movie.

“I was on a very long road trip and the traffic was crazy,” Taylor told the Today show, when asked how she first got in contact with filmmaker Anderson, 55, about making the movie. “I never would have thought in a million years PTA would personally call me, so to get a call from him, he’s like ‘Hey, what’s up?’ And I’m like ‘Who is this? Who is this? This has been a long day,’ and he’s like ‘This is PTA,’ and I’m instantly like, ‘Hey, what’s going on? How are you?’ ”
Taylor’s new movie One Battle After Another is in theaters Sept. 26. Pierre most recently appeared on screen as the voice of Mufasa in last year’s Lion King prequel, as well as in an episode of The Morning Show’s fourth season.
