NEED TO KNOW
The Young and the Restless’ Cricket and Danny are set to tie the knot soon in a long-awaited wedding — and the show is giving fans a chance to play stylist for the bride.
On Friday, Sept. 19, at 3:30 p.m. ET, a dress poll will go live on the show’s official Instagram, allowing viewers to choose between three different dress options, a rep for actress Lauralee Bell, who plays Christine “Cricket” Blair, confirmed to PEOPLE. The poll, which will run for 24 hours, will also be seen on Bell’s Instagram.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Bell, 56, revealed how the idea for the fun poll was inspired by loyal fans’ devotion to the TV supercouple.
“When we heard that we were going to get remarried, I just thought, ‘These people have devoted so much of their lives to our show,’ ” she said, explaining that she then decided that “whenever there’s a way where we can incorporate them or make them understand how much they mean to us, we can’t do this without them.”

The poll seemed like a perfect opportunity to bring fans into Cricket and Danny’s wedding story.
Bell told the outlet she has already tried on the three bridal dresses and declared them all to be “extremely comfortable.”
“If someone were to say, ‘Do I have a favorite?’ I don’t know that I do. I want this to completely be what [the fans choose],” she added.
Bell, who has played Cricket since 1983, noted that the show’s wardrobe team took into account that Cricket is “an older bride” and chose options to complement this phase in the character’s life.
“They’re all kind of simple and elegant,” Bell said. “And nothing’s showing. They’re all appropriate.”
PEOPLE exclusively revealed back on July 9 that Cricket and Danny Romalotti (played by Michael Damian) were getting engaged. At the time, Bell shared her one-word response to the major development in the long-term TV couple’s relationship: “Finally.”
She also told PEOPLE her and Damian’s reaction to learning that their characters’ engagement would take place during the show’s July 10 episode.
“We were super, super excited. Because it’s been 35 years in the making,” she said.

The couple’s upcoming fall wedding is not their first time at the altar. They tied the knot in a destination wedding in Hawaii in a 1990 episode, but their marriage ended when rock star Danny slept with a fan, Michelle Stafford’s Phyllis Summers.
All these years later, Cricket and Danny are ready to say “I do” for a second time, much to the delight of viewers.
Damian, 63, told PEOPLE in July that it’s been affirming to see longtime Y&R fans connect to “the nostalgia” of Cricket and Danny happily together again.

“I think that they’re like, ‘Oh, my God, finally,’ ” he said.
Bell joked, “And we couldn’t wait much longer because … if one of us has to get down on a knee, perhaps it’s not going to be any prettier in 10 years.”
At the time, Bell said neither she nor Damian knew what to expect for the upcoming wedding.
“It’s fun because I can imagine that there will be six people there or maybe half the cast. I have no idea,” the actress said, while promising to take fans behind the scenes on their wedding journey on her Instagram.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS and the next day on Paramount+.
