Seth Rogen is hopping on the Pineapple Express to the winner’s station.
During the 2025 Emmy Awards, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles Sept. 14, the Superbad star took home gold for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy for his role as Matt Remick in Apple TV+’s The Studio and made a hilarious reference to an old memory.
“I still could not wrap my head around this happening that I literally prepared nothing,” Seth said during his acceptance speech. “I’ve never won anything in my life. When I was a kid, I bought a used bowling trophy at an estate sale, and my parents were like, ‘Yeah, that’s a good idea. You should probably buy that.'”
The 43-year-old—who bested fellow nominees Adam Brody, Jason Segel, Martin Short and Jeremy Allen White—also shouted out his wife Lauren Miller, his mom and his castmates, adding, “Thank you so much. This is really just so lovely.”
While Seth had been previously nominated for five Emmy Awards, this trophy marks the Canadian’s first-ever acting Emmy. He was also nominated this year for Directing for a Comedy Series, Writing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Comedy Series, all alongside longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg.
