NEED TO KNOW
Jeremy Allen White will not be attending this year’s Emmy Awards.
The two-time Emmy winner is not going to be at the Peacock Theater for TV’s biggest night as he will instead be at his best friend’s wedding on Sunday, Sept. 14, PEOPLE has learned. Variety was first to report the news.
The actor is “disappointed” not to be with his costars to celebrate and is “very honored” that the FX series was recognized again this year, a source tells PEOPLE.
White, 34, is nominated for the third time this year for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for The Bear. He’s won the category for the last two years straight for his role as Carmy on the hit FX series.
This year, he’s up against Adam Brody, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel and Martin Short.

In his acceptance speech last year, White said his heart was “just beating outside of its chest” as he won the award for the second year in a row. He gave his costars a shoutout too, as he said, “I want us to be in each other’s lives forever.”
“This show has changed my life,” he continued of The Bear. “It has installed a faith that change is possible, that change is possible if you’re able to reach out, you’re really truly never alone. I thank this show.”
When he won his first-ever Emmy in January 2024, he was emotional, as he thanked “all those who stayed close to me, especially this past year,” in a win that came just eight months after his wife, Addison Timlin, filed for divorce in May 2023.
“Thank you for believing in me when I had trouble believing in myself,” the father of two — who shares daughters Ezer and Dolores with Timlin — added.

Earlier this year, White missed another awards show where he was also nominated for The Bear — and won. PEOPLE confirmed at the time that he missed the 2025 Golden Globe Awards because he was instead on the opposite coast due to his filming schedule for the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere.
He beat Adam Brody, Ted Danson, Steve Martin, Jason Segel and Martin Short to take home the win for best performance by a male actor in a television series — musical or comedy, though he was not present to accept the award.
