Pelphrey and Cuoco got engaged in August 2024, more than a year after welcoming their first child, daughter Matilda
Tom Pelphrey says he and fiancée Kaley Cuoco are keen to share the screen — if the right circumstances present themselves.
“We are interested in that,” the Ozark star, 43, says of working with Cuoco, 39, in an exclusive PEOPLE in 10 interview. “But it’s gonna really have to be the right thing, so it will probably take a while.”
“Kaley tends to live more comedically, whereas, you know, often people don’t let me within 10 feet of a comedy,” he explains with a laugh.

Pelphrey went on to note the pair’s differing work styles.
“I have so much respect for her and admiration, but I know enough — I know myself well enough — to know I could never work like she does. Likewise, sometimes she sees me work intensely and she’s like, ‘What are you doing?!’ ” he tells PEOPLE.
The actor says that while he and Cuoco both “do the same thing,” they agree that it “feels like we have different jobs.” Although that means that they are able to discuss their work and offer each other “helpful” feedback, it has also made it challenging to find the right project to team up on.
“The approach is so different, it feels like we’re talking about two different things,” Pelphrey explains. “Figuring out how those different things can come together and what the right, like, vehicle for that would be … we’re definitely interested in doing it, but so far we haven’t found what we felt like was the right thing.”

Pelphrey and the Big Bang Theory star got engaged in August 2024, more than a year after the pair welcomed their first child, daughter Matilda.
He tells PEOPLE that Cuoco and Matilda, now 2, had an opportunity to be with him on the location of his new HBO miniseries, Task, which premiered on Sept. 7 and also stars Mark Ruffalo. The show was primarily filmed in Delaware County, Pa., near Philadelphia.
“This was one of the great things about the job,” he says, explaining, “Where we were filming, I rented a house, and Kaley and Matilda were with me.”
In addition to having his fiancée and daughter there, his mother, grandmother and aunts, as well as several friends, came to visit.
“It was a very special job for me in that sense,” Pelphrey says. “I really felt a sense of home.”
The Outer Range actor previously told PEOPLE that since welcoming Matilda, spending time with the toddler has become “the priority.”

“Spending time with her is a nonnegotiable. It’s very important to me,” he said.
Reflecting on the moment he’s in with respect to his family and career, Pelphrey told PEOPLE, “If you would’ve told me 15 years ago that I could be with the love of my life and have the most perfect baby and get to do what I love, it’s wild. You’re living your dream. And I’m very conscious of that.”
