NEED TO KNOW
Remember when Demi Lovato serenaded a ghost?
During an appearance on the Just Trish Podcast on Thursday, Sept, 11, the host asked Lovato about Unidentified with Demi Lovato, a Peacock show where the singer aimed “to uncover the truth about the UFO phenomena.”
“I was so stoned,” Lovato, 33, said with a laugh after host Trisha Paytas asked her if the “singing to a ghost” video was “real.”
“I am very spiritual and I do believe in the paranormal and things like that, I will not deny that at all. The whole show is about me going and finding aliens and ghosts and doing that fun stuff,” the “Fast” singer said, as Paytas, 37, said she “sounded amazing.”
Lovato further clarified that it was “a time in my life when I just happened to be smoking a lot of weed.”
“I honestly haven’t watched it back because I cringe out of my soul but it’s also such a funny moment now that I can laugh at it and go, ‘Wait. That’s amazing,'” the pop star said.
She continued, “Why not own it? I’ve said really silly things or done really silly things and I just — you have to own it. If you don’t own it people will laugh at you. What’s better than laughing at yourself? I love laughing at myself.”

Unidentified with Demi Lovato premiered in September 2021. In that clip, Lovato is joined by her best friend, Mathew Scott Montgomery, and Chris Smith, a paranormal investigator from “The Wraith Chasers” as they explore an abandoned home.
At one point, an extraterrestrial being named Carmen reveals itself, and communicates to Lovato that it doesn’t like men — making Montgomery and Smith leave the room.
Then, as a peace offering, Lovato sings a snippet of her song “Skyscraper” to allow her friends to get back into the room.
In the trailer for the four-part docuseries, Lovato reflected on a “crazy experience.”

“I’m Demi Lovato, singer, activist and UFO experiencer,” she said in the trailer. “I’m hitting the road with my best friend Matthew and my sister Dallas to investigate the unexplained and the unidentified.”
The singer’s appearance on Paytas’ podcast came just ahead of the release of her newest single “Here All Night” on Sept. 12.
Lovato also released an accompanying dance-heavy music video, which she held a release party for in Los Angeles with Paytas as her host for the evening.
