Joey King Rocks Out with Sandra Bullock at Coldplay Concert

Joey King and Sandra Bullock took a break from Practical Magic 2 to rock out at a concert.

King, 26, shared a photo of herself and Bullock, 61, laughing and dancing at a concert on Instagram Wednesday, Sept. 10, and captioned the photo by writing, “🪄 💞 mamacita.”

The star plays Bullock’s character’s daughter in the upcoming Practical Magic sequel. According to videos shared on X by fan accounts dedicated to King and Bullock, the pair attended a Coldplay concert in London on Aug. 31 with Nicole Kidman, who is also returning for the Practical Magic sequel. 

PEOPLE first reported that Kidman and Bullock were in talks to star in a Practical Magic sequel in June 2024. The pair played sisters Gillian and Sally in the 1998 original, based on the 1995 novel by Alice Hoffman. The movie follows the duo’s attempt to end a curse that hangs over Gillian and Sally’s family that prevents women in the family from falling in love by killing men they grow romantically involved with. 

In July it was announced that Stockard Channing and Dianne West would reprise their roles from the original film as Frances “Franny” Owens and Bridget “Jet” Owens, the lead characters’ aunts.

King was announced as part of the movie’s cast at the same time alongside costars Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod. (King also shared photos and videos from what appeared to be a night out with costar Williams, 28, on Instagram and TikTok on Sunday, Sept. 7.)

“Twenty-five years ago, Sally, Gillian, Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny flew off the pages of Alice Hoffman’s beloved novel and into theaters around the world, and we are thrilled to bring the Owens family back to the big screen with Joey, Lee, Maisie, Solly and Xolo joining the next chapter in our story,” the filmmakers behind the movie said in a statement.

“The enduring affection for these characters has been our inspiration to deliver the next installment in the Owens’ story to new fans, and those who’ve been with us since the beginning.”

When Kidman spoke with PEOPLE in August, the actress said she and Bullock were “living in London, very close to each other” as work on Practical Magic 2 continues.

“We have beautiful Joey King, who I’ve worked with before and who’s just lovely,” Kidman said of their younger costar. “So it’s a group of amazing, amazing women and some great men who are creating the next phase, the next stage of the witches’ life.”

Kidman and King recently costarred as a mother-daughter duo in 2024’s A Family Affair.
