New details are emerging about Dylan Walsh’s recent car accident.
According to a police report obtained by PEOPLE, the Nip/Tuck actor, 61, allegedly told officers he’d been drinking and that he and his family were on their way home from a tavern when he crashed his car in Rumson, New Jersey, on Sunday, Aug. 17.
The report from the Rumson Police Department also claimed that there were open containers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, with multiple empty and open White Claw Hard Seltzer cans located in an open cooler bag.
Officers also said Walsh was “very red and looked very confused” at the scene of the crash, and that he agreed to give a blood sample.
Walsh has been cited for six violations related to the accident, including open container of alcohol, reckless driving, expired registration, failure to keep right, unsafe lane change/failure to maintain lane and driving on a sidewalk.
TMZ was the first to report the news.

The police report also contained information from witnesses who allegedly observed the car crash.
Witnesses told officers they heard Walsh’s wife, Leslie Bourque-Walsh, was heard allegedly screaming “get the bag out of the backseat” multiple times prior to the police’s arrival.
They also described Walsh’s car as having swerved to avoid oncoming traffic before it hit two utility poles.
Eight residents lost power as a result of the accident, but it was later restored and Jersey Central Power & Light replaced the utility poles, Patch reported.
A representative for Walsh confirmed that the actor was involved in a car crash in a statement to PEOPLE.
“Over the weekend, Dylan Walsh and his family were involved in a car accident in Rumson,” the rep said at the time. “Thankfully, everyone is safe and has since returned home.”
“The family is deeply grateful for the swift response of the Rumson Police, Fire Department, and EMS, as well as the staff at Riverview Medical Center for their care,” the statement continued. “They would also like to extend a special thank-you to the management and staff of The River Point Inn for their support in the immediate aftermath.”
A press release shared by the police department at the time stated that two passengers from Walsh’s car, a 2022 Ford Explorer, were transported to Riverview Medical Center due to complaints of pain after the accident.

Bourque-Walsh shed light on the accident in a Facebook post on Monday, Aug. 18.
“Last night our family was in a pretty bad car accident,” Bourque-Walsh wrote in her post. “We are all ok and that is all I will share now, except please wear seatbelts and have air bags in your vehicles.”
“We are also thankful for the 1st responders and all who helped us,” she added.
Bourque-Walsh seemingly confirmed that her and Walsh’s two children, daughter Amélie and son Hudson, were in the vehicle alongside their parents. The identity of the fifth passenger has yet to be revealed.
