Troy Frith, 32, who briefly appeared on the second series of Love Island U.K., has been sentenced to one year and two weeks in prison after a parking space dispute outside a supermarket escalated into an assault that left a man with serious head injuries.
“Frith became impatient while waiting for a family to remove a child seat from the rear of a car, despite there being other car parking spaces available,” PC Faye Gubby, who led the investigation, said in a Kent Police press release.

The incident happened around 7:22 p.m. on April 27 of this year investigators said. Frith punched the victim, causing him to fall and sustain significant head injuries. He fled before officers arrived but was arrested later that evening in Tunbridge Wells, about 40 miles southeast of London.
Frith, of Sidcup, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on July 8.

“While he indicated remorse by asking about the victim’s welfare, he still caused serious harm to a man over a relatively trivial matter,” Gubby added. “The judge passed the sentence taking the unprovoked nature of the assault into consideration.”
Frith first gained attention as a late entrant on Love Island’s second series, joining on day 30 and going on a date with future Made in Chelsea star Tina Stinnes. He was dumped from the island a week later after losing out to Adam Jukes in his bid to couple up with Olivia Buckland.
At the time, his ex-girlfriend, Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson, publicly criticized his reality TV appearance, writing on social media: “Name dropping a ex or anything like it purely to get on a TV show is probably the most annoying thing in the world #cringe.”
