Is Carrie Bradshaw’s story actually over?
And Just Like That… executive producer Elisa Zuritsky recently weighed in on the possibility of the iconic character returning for more adventures after the Sex and the City revival series wrapped earlier this month with a controversial series finale, closing another chapter in Carrie’s life.
“She’s alive, so it could happen,” Zuritsky told TVLine.
“Sarah Jessica Parker is Michael Patrick King’s muse,” she added, “and the reason he says ‘I’ve said goodbye before and I’ve come back’ is because it’s true.”
While Zuritsky noted it’s King’s call, she remains “the eternal optimist” that there’s more story to tell, adding, “I don’t like to be too final about things, and life is long. I mean, we’ve all seen lots of things happen.”

Zuritsky previously admitted that she saw the And Just Like That… series finale as the perfect conclusion to Carrie’s story.
The EP told the outlet that out of all the finales for each of the Sex and the City sequel series’ seasons, the season 3 finale, which served as the series finale, was the one that “definitely rings the most true.”
And Just Like That… ended with Carrie embracing her singledom and writing in the epilogue to her book, “The woman realized she was not alone. She was on her own.”
“I think it’s sort of extra poignant and feels authentic to [Carrie’s] character that she would reach this moment,” Zuritsky said of the conclusion. “She’s gone back, in a real way, to relationship-land. She’s decided that she’d rather be on her own than in a not-ideal partnership.”
Zuritsky said this ending sees Carrie feeling “really full, and really realized, and like a happy person living a happy life,” and that it’s “a beautiful punctuation mark to a life well lived.”

King and Parker have weighed in on the possibility of continuing Carrie’s story in the future.
When asked by Deadline after the series finale if fans should expect an And Just Like That… movie, King indicated that the book is closed — quite literally, by answering, “Look, I closed the book. Here’s the sound of the book. Boom!”
He echoed that sentiment in an interview with Variety, telling the outlet, “It is closed. Because I care so much about what we’ve done.”
Parker said during a recent Q&A that she wasn’t saying goodbye to Carrie, she was saying “farewell,” and, when seemingly addressing if this was the end of Carrie forever, said, “It’s incredibly hard to be definitive.”
