Love Island USA’s Iris Appears to Confirm Pepe Breakup Rumors After They Unfollow Each Other on Instagram

It seems like things are over for Iris Kendall and Pepe Garcia.

On Sunday, Aug. 24, fans noticed that both Iris and Pepe no longer follow each other on Instagram.

Iris, 25, has also removed all of her posts that featured Pepe, 27 — whom she coupled up with towards the end of Love Island USA season 7. Pepe still has posts on his feed featuring Iris.

Following fan speculation, Iris seemed to hint at the breakup in a post on her Instagram Story.

She shared several posts on Sunday, starting with a photo of a hot tub and a beautiful L.A. view, over which she added a blue heart emoji, “🩵.”

In the next post, she shared a sunset photo and added a Fleetwood Mac song, “Silver Springs,” which was interpreted by many fans to be a hint about how she’s doing.

The song’s lyrics are famously about a breakup, written following Stevie Nicks’ tumultuous relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, which possibly provides insight into Iris’ current mindset.

Reps for both Pepe and Iris did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Neither Iris nor Pepe has officially commented on the breakup speculation yet.

The couple was recently in New York City together, along with the rest of the season 7 cast, to film the reunion, which premieres on Peacock on Aug. 25.

It’s unclear whether any issues between Pepe and Iris will be addressed during the reunion, which will be hosted by Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen, as none were mentioned in the trailer.

However, according to the teaser, issues between winners Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales will be tackled in the reunion. At one point, Cohen asked Bryan about cheating rumors and Bryan admitted to a “lapse in judgment.”

Hours after Pepe and Iris unfollowed each other, Amaya and Bryan also unfollowed one another, which has sparked speculation that they may have ended their relationship.

After leaving the villa and placing 4th on season 7, Pepe and Iris said they were ready to commit to each other.

“We both date in very similar ways,” Pepe told PEOPLE in a joint interview with Iris in July. “We just want to focus on one person, ride out the wave, or if the wave just continues to go, then just be together, but just be happy. That’s all we care about for each other.”

“We’re both very honest with everything. So just enjoy time together,” he said of their focus after their time in the villa. “It’s hard to enjoy time with one person and give that one person your all when you’re talking to somebody else.”

“We’re just trying to make it as normal as possible,” he added.

The Love Island USA season 7 reunion premieres Monday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
