Blake Lively is moving forward with her acting career amid her legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
Lionsgate announced Thursday, Aug. 21, that the company acquired a new movie that Lively, 37, will co-produce and star in titled The Survival List, an action rom-com written by Tom Melia (Rye Lane).
“Against her wishes, highbrow reality TV producer Annie is assigned to a new show hosted by famous survival expert Chopper Lane,” reads a synopsis. “However, when a shipwreck strands them on a deserted island, Annie discovers Chopper is a fraud and knows nothing about survival, leaving her in charge of figuring out how to keep them alive. Forced to work together, they begin to discover an unlikely chemistry.”

The Survival List marks the first role Lively’s has secured since suing her It Ends With Us director and costar Baldoni, 41, in December 2024. She accused him of sexual harassment and retaliation, which he has denied, and the trial is slated for March 2026.

Lively has appeared in one movie since It Ends With Us released in August 2024: She returned to play her A Simple Favor character Emily Nelson for a sequel to the 2018 film titled Another Simple Favor, which made its world premiere at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in March and released on Prime Video in May.
The Hollywood Reporter was first to report news of Lively’s new movie. Scott O’Brien is overseeing the project, which does not yet have a director or other cast members announced, for Lionsgate.
