NEED TO KNOW
Age is nothing but a number to Monica Garcia.
The former Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 42, took to Instagram on Tuesday, Aug. 19, to defend the 10-year age gap between her and her boyfriend, Braxton Knight.
“He’s 10yrs younger than me and I bet we’re happier than most of you miserable a$$ haters in your close age relationships,” she wrote alongside a video of her and Knight wearing Disney-themed attire.
“GAWDAMN. Stay mad,” she added. “We GOOD over here. Some of y’all really need a churro and Jesus and it shows!! #loveoneanother.”
Garcia included a list of celebrities with notable age gaps on her video. That list included Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling, Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble, Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz, and Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor.
Many of Garcia’s fans offered their support in the comments section, with some noting they shared similar age gaps in their own relationships.
“Mine is 12 years younger and we’ve been together almost 17 years!” one person commented. “I’m happy for you! You deserve all the good things!”
Another added, “Girl who cares! Are you happy!!! I’m 8 years older than my baby daddy!! Live!!”
“Both my mom and aunt married men 10 years younger than them too. And they’re both happy AF!” someone else wrote. “10 years is nothing boo, you live your best life.”
Garcia recently welcomed her first child with Braxton, making her a mom of five.
The former reality star announced her pregnancy news in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in March, about a year after she opened up about experiencing a miscarriage.
Garcia and Knight welcomed their baby in April, but has yet to share any information about her newborn.
In the Instagram post announcing the arrival of her newest bundle of joy, Garcia, who shares four children with ex-husband Mike Fowler, reflected on what this pregnancy meant to her.
“Getting pregnant at 40 was never the plan, but just like the last couple years of my life, nothing has gone to plan. Dear God & body … thank you 🤍 Thank you for holding this baby safely through 9 months and a delivery,” she wrote. “So very grateful. I will miss this so much. Every hiccup and every kick felt 🤍.”
Garcia joined The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in season 4.
After making a splash in her debut season, PEOPLE exclusively reported in January 2024 that the fan-favorite was departing the Bravo series and would not be returning for season 5.
After the news circulated, Garcia spoke out and claimed that her exit was not her decision.
“That would be a cast and Bravo decision,” she told The Cut. “It would not have been my decision.”

Andy Cohen didn’t rule out the possibility for Garcia to return in the future, telling Variety that same month that “anything can happen” in the Bravosphere and that he “love[s] a comeback.”
