NEED TO KNOW
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff said it was a “crazy couple of hours” after Taylor Swift name-dropped him on the New Heights podcast.
Swift’s highly anticipated appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast, co-hosted by Jason Kelce, did not disappoint and has since become the most-watched episode of the show to date.
During the nearly two-hour-long intimate interview, Swift, 35, showed off some of her football knowledge — which her boyfriend says is due to him turning her into a football fan — including a reference to Goff, 30.
Swift mentioned Goff when she said, “I thought it was like, Jared Goff is here, and Josh Allen’s here. They’re gonna be like, they blow a whistle, and they go at each other, and they’re like ‘grrrr,’ and it’s like, who’s gonna win?”
During the Lions’ media availability on Thursday, Aug. 14, Goff was asked about the mention. “Very cool, I guess,” Goff told reporters. The quarterback added, “Crazy couple of hours last night for me and my phone. Kinda cool.”

Swift’s episode of New Heights was an extra special one, with fans sharing their excitement for seeing the singer interacting with Kelce in an intimate setting.
Swift also announced her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, during the show and explained more about the moment she learned she would regain control of her music catalogue.
Another revelation came when Swift revealed the surprising question she asked Kelce on their first date. “On our first date, I legitimately asked him what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl and he looked across the field, across the line of scrimmage and saw his brother standing on the other… five feet in front of him on the field,” Swift recalled.
“[Travis] didn’t even look at me. Like, I now know what an insane question that was,” Swift continued. “He was like, ‘Actually, I’m on the offense and my brother’s on the offense, and I’m only on the field at the same time as the defense.’ I thought everyone was on the field at the same time.”
