NEED TO KNOW
Wedding bells will soon be ringing for Bachelorette alum Nate Mitchell.
While Mitchell didn’t find love on the reality TV show, he was able to find it in real life, as he announced on Instagram on Thursday, Aug. 14 that he popped the question to his girlfriend Carol Wei.
He shared a set of photos from the proposal, including him getting down on one knee on a bridge overlooking a river and a city landscape. A shocked Wei could be seen briefly putting a hand on her mouth before saying “yes.”
The next few pictures showed the aftermath of the proposal with Mitchell and Wei wrapping their arms around each other as they posed happily for photos. Another shot showed a closeup of Wei’s new engagement ring, which featured an oval diamond on a golden band.

Mitchell revealed the date of the engagement in his caption, writing, “💍 8/13/25 ❤️.”
Wei reshared the photos to her Instagram Stories, writing that she was “over the moon” with the proposal. She also shared a glimpse of their celebration on a rooftop with family and friends after the proposal.
In one scene, friends could be seen shouting and holding sparklers as Mitchell held up a sign that read, “Ring acquired.” The two could be seen having fun in another clip as Wei popped a champagne bottle.
She capped off her Instagram Stories with a photo reshared from a friend showing her holding up her new engagement ring while holding a martini in her other hand. Her friend captioned the photo, “our girl is a fiancée!!”
Mitchell starred on Season 19 of The Bachelorette, which was the first season to feature two contestants, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia, looking for love. He was considered a front runner during the season for Windey’s affections, however, things didn’t work out.

He later shared on The Amanda Exclusivo podcast that his heartbreak on the show was “a blessing in disguise,” as he eventually found his true love.
“Where one love doesn’t blossom, you still have opportunities out there,” he said. “I’m glad it didn’t [work out on the show] because I now met my girlfriend whom I am absolutely head over heels with, and I’m extremely happy.”
“So, it worked out,” he added.
