Lorna Raver, an actress known for her roles in horror and beyond, has died. She was 81.
Raver’s death was announced in the Summer 2025 issue of SAG-AFTRA magazine, as part of its In Memoriam section that also included notable names like Anne Burrell, Wink Martindale, George Wendt and Brian Wilson.
Next to the Drag Me to Hell star’s name was her date of death — May 12, 2025 — though no other details were immediately available.
PEOPLE is out to a talent agent listed for Raver for comment.

Raver had more than 50 screen credits to her name, mostly on television, but was known for her turns in supernatural thriller films — notably, Sam Raimi’s Drag Me to Hell (2009) and Matthew Parkhill’s The Caller (2009).
In the former, Raver played Sylvia Ganush, an elderly woman who puts a curse on bank-loan officer Christine Brown (Alison Lohman), which sets off a series of misfortune for Christine.
“What I liked about the character was that she was powerful,” Raver said in Jason Norman’s 2014 book Welcome to Our Nightmares, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Raver was also known for her roles on stage and as an audiobook narrator, as well as on the soap The Young and the Restless. Her final appearance on film was in 2013’s Rushlights, and she retired from acting the following year.
The Pennsylvania-born actress was married to radio writer and producer Yuri Rasovsky from 1987 until his death in 2012.
A cause of death for Raver is unknown at this time.
