NEED TO KNOW
Kate Gosselin is entering her “dog mom era” — and joining TikTok to share it with the world.
In July, the nurse and former reality star, 50, officially joined TikTok, sharing a handful of videos of her two German shepherd dogs. She has since shared other, more nostalgic content, as well as a video clarifying that, though she is currently awaiting verification, @kate.gosselin is her one and only TikTok account.
After sitting down to confirm that the face behind the account is “actually me” on July 28, the former TLC star teased what’s to come. “There’s gonna be a lot of dogs on it. And kids, but mostly dogs and me,” she said, adding that she is in her “German shepherd dog mom era.”
“Is that how they say it? You know what I mean,” Kate then joked. “Anyway, it’s me. Just wanted to let you know.”

Though the star has stuck to her word, primarily posting videos about her dogs, she has also dabbled in other types of content, sharing a “GRWM” (get ready with me) video, as well as some clips about her kids.
Kate shares eight children — 24-year-old twins Mady and Cara and 21-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel — with Jon Gosselin, her ex-husband and former costar on Jon & Kate Plus 8, which was later renamed Kate Plus 8. (Kate filed for divorce from Jon, 48, in 2009.)
In her getting-ready TikTok, which she filmed before heading to work and posted Aug. 1, the former reality star talked about her dogs while applying her makeup. In the comments, Kate responded to several comments discussing how she’s changed since her time on TLC.
After one user sympathized with her, stating that they “see major growth and healing here,” the nurse thanked her and replied, “Your observations are correct. And yes, I am healing and growing every day. Thank goodness:).”
Replying to a comment about “how lucky” she is to have her kids’ “precious” moments documented through her former reality show, the mom of eight claimed that her kids now look back at them by watching the family’s series.

“Yes! My adult kids are now watching our show with their friends/bf and gfs!” she wrote. “Isn’t that cute?”

Kate has also taken a walk down memory lane recently, sharing photos of a vacation the family took during her time on season 10 of Dancing with the Stars. Alongside a slideshow of photos of the kids interacting with Disneyland cast members and riding rides, she wrote, “Ah the good old days.”
“I took my kids to Disneyland in 2010 when I was on DWTS,” the TLC alum added. “We had a great time! Enjoy these old gems ❤️.”
Earlier this year, Kate’s daughter Hannah reflected on her experience growing up as a child reality star in a Teen Vogue profile. Filming, Hannah told the outlet, “made my siblings and I closer to each other, even though it made my parents further from each other.”
But, she added at the time, “It’s hard to go back and watch my parents argue.”
